Sagittarius Full Moon Followed By The Summer Solstice

The Full Moon is exact at 25 degrees of Sagittarius early tomorrow morning. The Moon has been in this Mutable Fire sign all weekend, interacting with gregarious Jupiter and compassionate Neptune. These planets tend toward optimism and caring and have been acting as a buffer to the recent harsh affects of Mars stirring up emotional drama, in family-loving Cancer, while opposing Saturn in business-like Capricorn. On the other hand, Sagittarius accentuates excess, even fanaticism, and this Moon may actually bring to light the need for self-discipline and focus.

What is being illuminated for you at this Full Moon? Can you see the bigger picture yet? Depending on your efforts since the Gemini New Moon two weeks ago, you may be inspired by your progress to keep moving forward. If, however, your plans have gone astray or just not worked out the way you had planned, this new awareness may show you a better direction to follow. Sagittarius is about looking ahead, not back, and learning all you can to help you reach your goals.

After the Full Moon is exact, she makes no more aspects until a little after noon, moving into Capricorn and shifting gears into work and business pursuits. Best to finish up loose ends or clean off your desk first thing in the morning, before getting a handle on work-related responsibilities in the afternoon.

Tuesday's focus can be on service toward the greater good thanks to a favorable alignment of Saturn and Neptune. This is followed by a very long void-of-course day on Wednesday as the Moon meets intense  Pluto in the early a.m. causing feelings of discontent and disconnectedness to loom all day. Avoid making major decisions or agreeing to anything important today. It is a good day for spiritual focus and getting obsessive feelings like jealousy and/or suspicion under control. Thursday finds the Aquarius Moon better off networking in groups rather than trying to stand out on one's own.

The Sun moves into Cancer on the 21st at the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year. Outgoing emphasis is now on home and family. For the next 30 days, we are driven by our emotions and who or what we care for. Nurturing others and being nurtured is Cancers' major concern. The season of cookouts and BBQs with family and friends is upon us!

The subtle vibrations of the subconscious are tweaked now as Neptune turns retrograde, also on the  21st, signaling a more intuitive or artistic time as we turn inward. Pay attention to what your inner muse is trying to tell you now, until Neptune's Direct motion in late November.

While trying to be be optimistic and also remaining compassionate for all the suffering in the world, remember... keep your head in the stars and your feet on the ground!

Gemini New Moon

This New Moon in Gemini aligns inner feelings and outer actions through logic, reasoning and communication. This is the time for planning and organizing whatever you hope to achieve out in the world. Make a list of steps to take at the start of this lunar Air cycle - phone calls, meetings, research... whatever dreams you want to have come true, begin now.

The chart for the New Moon shows a square to Neptune, encouraging compassion and creativity. Tuning inward and listening to your inner muse is the challenge here. Is there an artistic expression that can come out now? Avoid being overly sympathetic as exuberant Jupiter also squares off with Neptune and risks a lack of boundaries. Being too dreamy or lackadaisical can lead you down a path of deception, but trusting your inner guidance can lead you down a path of beauty and connection.

Keeping the above in mind, you can now view the opposition that the Sun and Moon make to Jupiter. Arranging your path toward distant horizons and bigger views means knowing yourself and applying self-discipline so as not to go careening off after every opportunity or sidetrack along your way. This is the time to remember "not all opportunities are mine", especially if larger than life schemes appear and distract you from your goals! Do apply Jupiter's optimism as healthy fuel to feed your inner fire along the way.

Mercury leaves Gemini on the 4th and swims into Cancer for three weeks, making for emotional connections and moody communication. After the 7th, the Messenger of the Gods creeps up to a conjunction with Mars on the 17th, facilitating powerful and forthright conversations. Be sure to think of what you want to impart before speaking or agreeing to something that would be very hard to back out of later on. Otherwise, it's going to be a very good time to set the wheels of collaboration in motion.

Remember, while running around with your ideas, to keep your head in the stars and your feet on the ground~

Scorpio Full Moon

The Full Moon in Scorpio can bring up deep passions or hidden insecurities. As Mars and Pluto are considered co-rulers of this intense water sign, anger or jealousy could get the better of some people now.
This place in the lunar cycle shows us what we feel about our progress since the New Moon. It can enlighten us and bring a sense of fulfillment if we have been progressing effectively. Otherwise, if we've been held back by negative emotions or a lack of self-worth, we may be unable to throw off old reactions and fruitless patterns.

Try not to beat yourself up or let your buttons get pushed because of some past slight. Instead, reassess your own behavior and see where you can make a change for the better. Scorpio is the sign of powerful feelings, persistence and determination, which when harnessed in partnership, can bring great rewards... if both parties get to have input and can let go of their suspicions.

The Full Moon chart shows a need for honoring the individual within the context of relationship, allowing each to have their own freedom of expression. Communication can go deeper now and gains can be made for a more solid understanding of each others' needs, given some effort on the part of both parties.

Mundanely, some leaders will continue to jab at each other and let their personal desires rule their thoughts. Perhaps, the world will tire of these ineffective games and new patterns can be instituted with help from a Venus/Mars sextile, but that just might be wishful thinking... thanks to a Jupiter square to Neptune! I still like to think positively and employ the power of prayer. It's better than being suspicious and expecting the worst all the time.

Remember, while keeping your head in the stars and your feet on the ground, to let Love rule~

Pathways Astrology: Taurus New Moon

Taurus New Moon

The Sun and Moon came together tonight at 6:45 pm in the 14th degree of Taurus ,the Fixed Earth sign. This powerful Moon begins a lunar phase of opportunity to use our resources in a productive manner that will bode well in the coming months. It is also the first time in 84 years that the revolutionary energy of Uranus has been in Taurus, so in a way, this New Moon is getting a dose of  the disruptive, yet exciting affects of awakening!

Uranus brings sudden change through the disruption of outmoded forms, destroying stuck influences in order to make space for new attitudes or paradigms. We must let go of the old for the new to come in, however uncertain we may be. Resistance only prolongs the process and makes adapting harder.

So, this new lunar cycle is here to remind us that we are trying to re-stabilize our resources, our values and/or, our security. If it hasn't been working for us, why would we want to remain stuck in something just because it's the status quo? Like it's symbol, the Bull, Taurus can get into a long-term rut. Change comes when the endurance of earth is challenged by the electrical impulses of original ideas, rebellion and freedom, moving us forward toward a more altruistic future.

In the New Moon chart, Saturn, representing necessity, and Neptune, spiritual guidance, work together harmoniously to support our efforts, even though Saturn is about limitations and Neptune knows no boundaries! Occasionally, these two archetypal  energies align in a beneficial aspect to allow insight as to how to build a new/better foundation. The confusion apparent now can lead to the stepping stones of our future if we are receptive to the subtle, psychic impressions flowing around us.

The "Messenger of The Gods, Mercury, joins the Sun and Uranus in Taurus on the 6th, where he'll remain for two weeks, before moving into his own sign, Gemini on the 21st. When Mercury conjuncts Uranus on the 8th, ingenious ideas of an intuitive nature, combined with erratic behaviors, can rise to higher levels of consciousness and help shake us loose from constricting thought patterns. Once in Gemini, Mercury will want to interact with peers and share progressive thoughts while brainstorming new pathways.

Remember, even though the way forward isn't completely clear, if you keep your head in the stars and your feet on the ground, and trust your intuition and divine guidance you'll probably end up right where you need to be.

Aries New Moon

The Moon joining the Sun in Aries kick-starts this Lunar cycle and reminds us that it is indeed time to move forward in our lives! No more excuses, trepidation or worry about what might happen if... There is no room for self-doubt or feeling held back. The Aries challenge is to be brave and point yourself in the new direction you've been wanting to go.

Nevermind the nay-sayers, the what-ifs that your mind presents, or your own unfounded fear of change. You are now in control, you are the boss-of-you and it's time to take your life in a bold, new direction! Have self-confidence and take responsibility for your actions going forward. No one else is going to do this for you.

That said, you don't have to do everything all at once. The Moon squaring Saturn reminds us of our limitations and that taking one step at a time is a practical way to get where we're going. Yes, we may have to answer to authority figures and we definitely need to take care of our commitments, but we can still make change happen incrementally.

Now that Mercury is in direct motion and still in Pisces, while also aligned with Venus and Neptune, we can use the insight we have gained into our hopes and dreams over the last few weeks to set sail for a better version of ourselves in relationship. Neptune warns us not to live in a fantasy world, while Venus wants us to be loving and open to receiving in return. We have an opportunity to use our astute minds for learning and sharing ideas, thanks to Mercury's sextile to Saturn on the 7th.

The Moon in Taurus all weekend brings attention to different methods of connecting with others as she joins with the awakening force of Uranus. Insight involving attitudes and behaviors that have outlived their usefulness come into view and we become aware of what needs to change, to be replaced with something better. Sunday is a great day to interact with friends and loved ones, sharing affection and words of love and appreciation.

Remember while you are enjoying each others' company, to keep your head in the stars and your feet on the ground.
