"We are born at a given moment, in a given place, and like vintage years of wine, we have the qualities of the year and the season of which we are born. Astrology does not lay claim to anything more." - Carl Gustav Jung

Sagittarius Full Moon & Summer Solstice
The Full Moon is exact at 7:02 a.m. opposing the Sun in the last degree of Sagittarius/Gemini. This points to our plans and agreements. Pay attention to the words coming out of your mouth... are you creating what you really want or are you expressing dissatisfaction and/or what you don't want?! It's important not to let our ego (Sun), get the best of our emotions (Moon) right now.
This Full Moon chart also shows a waxing, mutable Grand cross between Mercury (communications and interactions) in Gemini, Jupiter (expansion and exaggeration) in Virgo, Saturn (necessity and restriction) in Sagittarius and Neptune (receptive and impressionable) in Pisces. This is a lot to deal with and can be the cause of things being blown out of proportion if we're not vigilant with how and what we communicate to others. Think before you speak, filter, be truthful, and only say what is necessary.
Jupiter in Virgo is giving a big assist to Pluto in Capricorn by way of a harmonious trine aspect. It's okay to be enthusiastic about our future goals, so long as we're taking small, practical steps to make the changes needed to accomplish them. Just because the cosmic weather is uncertain, it doesn't mean we have to be uncertain of who we are and what we aim to accomplish!
Summer officially arrives at 6:35pm when the Sun enters watery Cancer, emphasizing our homes, our bellies and our emotions for the next month! People can be very emotional or wary of anything that they perceive as a threat to their security. In the Solstice chart, the Moon has moved into Capricorn, focusing on business and career issues, as well as taking care of anyone we're responsible for. With this polarity taking place in the first and seventh houses, it's important to find a balance between our own needs and those of our significant others.
Remember to be kind while you keep your head in the stars and your feet on the ground~

Gemini New Moon
After a Moon/Venus conjunction tonight, Luna joins the Sun at 10:59pm EST in the 15th degree of Gemini. This Air sign is one corner of a Mutable Grand Cross, bringing the Sun, Moon and Venus into contact with Jupiter in mutable Earth, Saturn in mutable Fire and Neptune in mutable Water. All the signs that have to do with adaptability are engaged at this New Moon.
So, what is the function of this alignment of the two Lights, Sun and Moon, in this versatile and restless sign? It's to prod us to use logic while interacting with the many distractions that are attempting to pull us away from our desired path. Being flexible, listening and asking questions will allow change to happen and that's what this is all about.
The last couple of days in the Balsamic Moon phase has kept us in the dark about which way to go to achieve our goals. With the New Moon energy, plans get talked about and options revealed. Just wait a couple of days before agreeing to anything new. The challenge of this Mutable Square is to allow for change to happen, build our self confidence and self-esteem and to answer to our own inner authority.
We get help from another important aspect configuration in the New Moon chart and that is a Grand Trine in Earth signs with Mercury in Fixed Taurus, Jupiter in Mutable Earth and Pluto in Cardinal Capricorn. All of that earth helps get us out of our heads and is just what we need to stay grounded! Garden, weed out your closets, get organized... anything to keep you from waivering when it comes to trusting yourself and the direction you know you want to move in.
Mars is still retrograde, as is Saturn, so that puts a damper on moving too fast. We need to integrate some of the Neptunian energy to find a creative outlet so we don't dwell on self-criticism or indecision. Tuning into your higher self and trusting your inner knowingness as you take small steps forward is the way to go at this new moon cycle. Things become clearer on Monday and Tuesday and by Wednesday and into Thursday, the Leo Moon adds a bright spark of effervescence to help light our way.
