Capricorn New Moon

The Sun and Moon come together at 8 degrees of the Cardinal earth sign, Capricorn for a new Moon emphasizing the practical responsibilities of staying focused on the here and now. With Capricorn's ruler, Saturn, engaging both Jupiter (expansion) and Uranus (excitement) positively, there will be times this month for growth and forward movement. But first, let's address the New Moon conjunct a retrograde Mercury.

That's right, Mercury Rx in Capricorn will be requiring us to turn inward for a little over another week, which allows us the time to slow down and tie up any loose ends before charging into the new year. Is there some communication or interaction that needs to happen in order to clear things up, whether from the recent past or long ago? Review, reflect and renew as necessary!

Adding to this theme, Mars is aligned with Neptune on the South Node... let it go, let it go, let it go!! The situations and/or emotional ties that bind are holding you back if they no longer serve their purpose. Use Mars momentum to take action; maybe that's asking for forgiveness, forgiving someone else or getting out of a tough situation. Whatever it is, you can do this! The Sun and Moon also align positively with the Nodes  to help us form more positive alliances, especially in key relationships moving forward.

What would you say if the universe provided you with all the tools to clean up your act and close out 2016 in a productive manner, ready to take on 2017? Well , that's what is being offered in this New Moon chart as we leave behind the old year and prepare to move into the new one. Saturn (necessity) and Chiron (healing), are the behind-the-scenes players bringing the energy to heal wounds and methodically move forward.once you're unencumbered.

Set your intention to take it slowly, care of business and tie up the loose ends of 2016 as you prepare for 2017. Oh, and remember to keep your head in the stars and your feet on the ground!

Taurus Full Moon

This Full Moon in Taurus is at Perigee, meaning the closest to the Earth; some call it a Super Moon, which will appear larger than it's been in 70 years. Taurus expresses itself through Earth as sturdy and fertile, expressing endurance and capable of holding onto resources. The steadfastness of this Fixed sign implores us to be frugal with what we have and to keep things on an even keel.

Let's consider the pull of the Full Moon on the Earth's crust and all creatures who dwell within her sphere. The Soli/Lunar dance of opposites brings Scorpio and Taurus into dynamic play between the ego (Sun) and emotions (Moon). We have had a struggle between our male (aggressive) and female (receptive) natures. We understand we're part of a bigger whole, yet when it comes to issues of security, we may feel threatened by the values of others and want to defend ourselves. My plea to all of you, is to listen to the feminine side that can assist us with empathy and help us to listen to each other. Sometimes we get what we want, other times we don't.

In the chart for today's Full Moon, Chiron in Pisces, the asteroid named after a Centaur, (half human and half horse) is interacting very favorably to form a sextile to the Moon and a trine to the Sun. With these two aspects, we can find harmony for healing the divide within our own natures and outside of ourselves.  Chiron is known as the "wounded healer" whose orbit runs between Saturn, representing body and Uranus, representing spirit. Allow Chiron to do his work of forming a rainbow bridge for connecting body and spirit and helping in the healing process so necessary around the world today.

We also receive an assist from two minor aspects between Mercury and the asteroid Juno, indicating a concern with relationships, and Venus and Juno. These subtle influences can have a positive effect on improving pertinent partnerships, such as in marriages and key business ventures.

Full Moons illuminate and give energy to the Earth, via the Sun's force and the Moon's watery pull. First, center yourselves daily through prayer or meditation, sending healing thoughts out to an imperiled world, then decide (set your intentions) to hear the pleas of mankind. Determine not to add to the pain and suffering around the globe, rather to find avenues of adjustment to express compassion while sharing your own unique thoughts about how to heal wounds, let go of the past and prepare for new beginnings.

Keep on keeping on and while putting one foot in front of the other, remember to keep your head in the stars and your feet on the ground!

Scorpio New Moon

The Sun and Moon align today in the 8th degree of Scorpio at 1:38pm, EST. The inner and outer facets of the personality crave creative expression. Emotional intensity is the soup du jour, along with a more finely tuned sensitivity and intuition. I hope you can be with the person(s) that can allow an interplay of your strong  passions and desires to be expressed. This is the beginning of a new project that involves joint finances, emotional merging or getting to the bottom of something long held and deeply felt.

If you're feeling the need to explore your own personal realms, then by all means, avoid connecting with those people in your life who tend to push your buttons or demand too much of you. The ego self needs to listen to the higher self and take care of itself!! On the other hand, this may be the perfect time for bonding with a significant other on a very deep emotional level.

The Sun and Moon are also conjunct mercurial Mercury in Scorpio, so you are able to be an effective communicator if you speak from your emotions and your heart. Try not to over-think things and remember that aggressiveness, moodiness and impatience are the norm under Scorpio's influence. Watch out for jealousies and suspicions and be willing to forgive and forget!

With Neptune in a flowing aspect to both the Sun and Moon in this New Moon chart, intuition offers a big assist to your creative process. You can attract people to you for your kind and gentle nature, but need to watch out for putting people on a pedestal  or confusing their motive for your own and vice versa. Joint projects in the arts and business take on a deeper meaning when in collaboration.

Give and take can flow thanks to expansive Jupiter in Libra positively aligned with determined Saturn. Success can be achieved through focus and a willingness to partner with another. Be careful not to put all your confidence in another; be strong and use your own resources, because you have this!!

In the month ahead, remember to seek inner guidance and keep your head in the stars and your feet on the ground~

Aries Full Moon

The Moon in Aries exactly opposes the Sun in Libra at 12:23am early tomorrow here on the East coast. It was a beautiful Moonrise in the East a little after 6pm this evening, while the Sun setting to the west put on a spectacular show as well! Keep this image of a lovely juxtaposition in mind as you begin to relate to the Full Moon energy.

What is this Soli/Lunar dance about this cycle... self and others... balance and imbalance... new pathways and widened bridges. How are you feeling about the relationships in your life? What drastic changes have you either sensed on the horizon or experienced lately? This Full Moon can feel like a roller coaster ride, with thrilling heights and sudden drops.

The Moon in Aries sits with revolutionary change-maker Uranus, bringing waves of excitement and urges for freedom to explore new avenues and pathways to wholeness. Acting impulsively probably isn't the best way to deal with all the uncertainty swirling around. However, being brave enough to take steps in a new direction would be in keeping with the current lunar energies. Remind yourself that the Sun in Libra is sitting just across the way to help you steady yourself as you go.

Another factor in this Full Moon chart is the Sun aligned with Mercury, making communication imperative if we are to understand one another or at least respect each others' points-of-view. All the singular Aries influence may keep some egos focused on their agenda and not considering the needs of others. Do your darndest to be mindful of the feelings and needs of your significant others. Take turns listening and try not to push your agenda over your loved one's.

Remember to breathe, inhaling and exhaling, seeking a place of stillness and well-being until you remember that you are good enough just the way you are. The contentment you seek is within you and once you experience self-acceptance, the other pieces of the relationship puzzle will find their way and fit into your life exactlythe way they were meant to. Dream big, think positively and imagine your inner harmony spreading outward to enfold everyone you come into contact with.

Oh, and keep your head in the stars and your feet on the ground~

Libra New Moon

We finish September and start October under the influence of a Libra New Moon. The New Moon occurs on Friday, September 30th at 8:11pm in the eighth degree of Libra. Balance is the issue... that and fairness, justice and equality, as well as beauty, grace and refinement. Everyone knows of airy Libra's association with relating and relationships. The key to flowing into right relationship in all your associations involves finding the balance.

This New Moon, meaning the conjunction of the Sun and Moon, aligns with ebullient Jupiter in Libra as well, expanding opportunity to put our relationships into balance, whether personal, social or professional. Jupiter has a tendency to make everything larger than life and in Libra, we need to be aware of great swings in any direction. Maintaining equilibrium is the path to success in the month ahead. So, while good things can come in, so can difficult ones and avoiding extremes, all-or-nothing scenarios or getting too high or too low, will see you through to the good times.

Relating includes communication, taking turns and listening. Awareness and acceptance precede action and the next few weeks brings optimism from Jupiter, to this alignment of the Sun and Moon in Libra. If you look for it and are prepared for a chance to move ahead in your relationship, this could be the beginning of a beautiful phase of partnership. Be forward thinking and remember that relationships are a two-way street; it isn't up to you to do all the work. Let the beauty and sensitivity of Libra shine on you!

Also in the mix for this New Moon chart, is a challenging aspect from Mars in Cardinal Earth, (Capricorn) to the Sun and Moon in Cardinal Air, (Libra). Cardinal signs like to take action, they begin things and this alignment is pressing us to break out of stuck thoughts, associations or agreements and apply new energy to making something happen for the better. Mars spent a lot of time in Sagittarius, thanks to a retrograde cycle... and had from early March until just a few days ago, to do his homework, research and exploration of the road ahead. In Capricorn for a little over 6 weeks, Mars is happy to be building new foundations, especially in business and career, so that he may now put his plans for the future into action!

A reminder... the biggest and most important relationship to get right, is the one between your ego self and your Higher Self. Do that first and the others start to fall into place. In the meantime, rock the boat if it needs rocking and if it doesn't, try to keep things on an even keel. And while you're at it, remember to keep your head in the stars and your feet on the ground... that's a balance in and of itself~

Full Harvest Moon in Pisces & Lunar Eclipse

Welcome to September's second eclipse, shedding Light on all our connections, bringing up compassion for others, including animals and the oceans! As the last eclipse of 2016 comes to fruition, it also wraps up some of our projects or relationships that are timely to end. This eclipse season, beginning with the New Moon in Virgo two  weeks ago, has been about endings for new beginnings. Just do not do it all today! Take the time today to review what attitudes, habits or worries you have been weeding out and are now ready to put in the rear view mirror.

Pisces is the last sign of the Zodiac and a Water sign. Compassion, understanding and emotional connections are the keywords to remember here. Water flows in and around everything. Our bodies are mostly made up of water and our planet/our home is covered with water. How are you taking care of yourself and your home? Have you looked the other way when humanity has cried out in boatloads of human beings crossing oceans to escape inhuman conditions? Perhaps you can only cope through alcohol or drugs or have family or friends who do and have gone into a place of utter despair.

Just as water connects us all, so do our thoughts and feelings. Do your best to send out healing thoughts and prayers to others in need, even the ones who oppose you, especially them. Prayer and intention will guide you into much calmer waters than hate and spite. Rid yourself of the negative emotions that will only toss you onto the rocky shores of mistrust and hate. Remember two weeks ago at the New Moon in Virgo when I said to be discerning and let go of stuff? Well, it's time for a check of how well you're doing with that!

In the Full Moon chart, we see more challenges than opportunities. This is due to a T-square between Mars and the Sun/Moon opposition in Virgo/Pisces. Mars is currently in Sagittarius chasing after his goals and unafraid of butting heads with those in his way. This interplay of the planets in Mutable signs calls for careful handling and restraint. Also, remember that Mercury is still retrograde until the 22nd, so nothing is yet written in stone. While giant Jupiter has moved into Cardinal Libra, he is still in close proximity to the Sun in Virgo and doesn't need much prompting to blow things all out of proportion. The full impact of this alignments plays out overnight, so don't try to tip the scales in your favor or you may find you've bitten off more than you can chew!

In the meantime, remember to keep your head in the stars and your feet on the ground.
Oh, I'll be enjoying the Full Harvest Moon out at the Island Fair this weekend. Maybe I'll see some of you there!

PS/ Mercury is Retrograde...

I was so wrapped up in the New Moon Solar Eclipse Blog, I forgot to mention that Mercury, the Messenger of the Gods, went retrograde at 9:04am Tuesday morning. Now, I am not one to stop everything and make no decisions just because of the communicators' turn-about. However, I will caution you not to make new agreements, buy electronics or cars, or start something completely new without having first done your homework.

This is the perfect time to do research, study, check and double-check your facts and figures and know what your options are. The retrograde cycle lasts from August 30th to September 22nd, after which, Mercury moves forward through the shadow phase of where it had backtracked. Once Mercury is in direct motion, it is wise to check dates for travel plans, go over any calendar entries you may have made during the retrograde part of the cycle and balance your checkbook, yet again!

Because Mercury has ruler-ship over modes of transportation, computers and communication devices, there can be delays and breakdowns of equipment and machinery while retrograde. Sometimes, these are just a reminder that something needs fixing. I have found that if something needs repair or replacement this is often the time you have to deal with it. If you can wait until Mercury is Direct to actually buy the new item, all the better. Otherwise, do your homework first!

On the communication level, it's not a bad time to talk to others and clear up old issues. Have you been avoiding a discussion that needs to happen so all involved can move forward? If so, see if you can pick up the pieces and sort through the important concerns or ideas, and make sure to listen to the other person in the conversation. You don't have to make any big decisions, just clear the air and know where you stand.

In the meantime, remember to be patient, keep your head in the stars and your feet on the ground!

Solar Eclipse New Moon September 1st

The Virgo New Moon is also, barely, an Annular Eclipse of the Sun, which means that a narrow band of the Sun will be visible beyond the dark mask of the Moon in areas where it can be seen, not North America. To me, this is an opportunity to look beyond what we think our choices are to the little sliver of Light that appears when we emerge from darkness, in order to begin the process of self-healing. Two weeks later, there will be a Lunar Eclipse at the Pisces Full Moon, accentuating our connections with the rest of the world and showing us where we need to allow healing to take place.

I know that sounds very esoteric to some of you... "what does she mean..."  I can practically hear you acclaim!? Let's start with looking at the Virgo/Pisces polarity: these are Mutable, meaning adaptable or changing, Signs involved in the process of becoming whole, or healing. Virgo is the Earth sign that digests things and breaks them down to be categorized, organized and assimilated. Pisces is the Water sign that cleanses our emotional wounds and allows us to connect and become one. A Solar Eclipse in Virgo shows us what needs to be healed individually and a Lunar Eclipse in Pisces how to flow into wholeness or unity.

September 1st eclipses the Virgo New Moon, while also creating a cosmic T-Square between the Sun/Moon alignment, Neptune and Saturn. This means that while the powers that be (Saturn) may be trying to force us into choices (Virgo), we really don't have enough clarity to know what is real and what is not (Neptune) in order to make an informed decision. Now, you may think I am referring strictly to politics here, however, that's not the only situation I am referring to. If you can't make up your mind about which path to take, it just means you're not ready to make a clear-cut decision. With an opposition from the New Moon to Neptune, this is the case for many.

Individually, we need to cleanse any dark corners of doubt, fear, hurt, resentment or any other negative emotions that can hold us back. Each of us has our own work to do and while it may be easier to point the finger at others, that won't help anyone. We need to take responsibility (Saturn) for our own path to wholeness; no one can do that for anyone else! As much as we sometimes want to direct others on their healing path, we can only be there for support or to set an example by becoming whole ourselves.

The Pisces side of this healing coin, with Neptune's ruler-ship, will be shown more clearly when we are committed to our own process as we move toward the Full Moon on the 16th. For those of you with a lot of Virgo in your birth charts, you may be experiencing too much self-scrutiny or be sick of self-improvement and need to visit the Pisces side of things by getting creative, listening to soothing music, taking a time out by the ocean or retreating from all the activity around you. Anything you can do to quiet the mind chatter will be helpful. However, if that little voice within tells you that you are merely sticking your head in the sand to avoid a necessary change, you need to take steps to clean up your act. You know what you need to do... and this Solar Eclipse can help you take great strides forward!

Roll up your sleeves and remember to keep your head in the stars and your feet on the ground.

Aquarius Full Moon & Lunar Eclipse

This Full Moon is known as the "Sturgeon Full Moon", named for the Native Americans who fished for sturgeon, abundant in the Great Lakes around this Full Moon. The opposition of the Moon in Aquarius to the Leo Sun sheds light on our interactions with others, as well as the sharing of ideas, especially as they relate to new friendships and acquaintances. While Leo Sun in the Full Moon chart resides in the first house of the self, it is very important that one doesn't only talk of oneself, but includes others in the conversation.

Joining together with like-minded others to accomplish a common goal is the theme here. Are you able to relate to others in your life who may be able to share their inspiration and unique point of view with you? If so, you are headed in the right direction, as brain-storming and working together will bring you closer to your desired outcome. Avoid a Leonine tendency to only express your own abilities or to act out without regard for others input and innovative insights!

A Lunar Eclipse, the first in a series of three, takes place just sixteen minutes after the Full Moon culminates. Eclipses have an effect of highlighting endings and new beginnings and in this instance, brings up the battle between the ego and the will-power of the mind. Examine where you are stuck in having to have your own way and determine what actions you can take to move away from self-centered expression to more inclusive efforts for the good of the whole. There is more power in working together even if it means having to put some of your own desires on the back burner. Your needs will get met once you become more aware of and considerate of the needs of others.

There are a couple of challenging aspects in this Full Moon chart. First is a conjunction between Mars, aggression and action, and Saturn, necessity and response-ability. Both planetary bodies are now moving Direct in Sagittarius, the sign of the truth-seeker, but their individual energies are pulling in different directions. Mars wants to run off and do something now, while Saturn wants to methodically plan for the future. Mars equates to the gas pedal and Saturn to the brakes. If you truly want to get ahead in some project or life quest, you'll need to slow it down and focus on the plans you made in late Spring. What steps do you need to take in an organized fashion to get where you want to go? That is the question and the focus now.

The other difficult aspects, are the square from both Mars and Saturn to nebulous Neptune. Tune into compassion and understanding for yourself and others before you run off tilting at windmills! Things are still foggy and drugs and alcohol, or delusion and denial, won't help one little bit, but praying for guidance and  listening for the truth in all matters will guide you toward your desired outcome.

In the meantime, remember to keep your head in the stars, your feet on the ground and your awareness on the path~

Pathways Astrology: Leo New Moon

Pathways Astrology: Leo New Moon:    Welcome to the time of year when having fun, being creative and expressing oneself is not only possible, but necessary! Finish up old pro...

Leo New Moon

Welcome to the time of year when having fun, being creative and expressing oneself is not only possible, but necessary! Finish up old projects today up until the time of the New Moon so you can enjoy yourself when Luna joins the Sun in Leo at 4:44pm. With both Lights in the Sun's ruling sign, we receive an extra dose of strength, determination and enthusiasm to buoy up our spirits during this next Lunar cycle.

Being expressive and a bit of a risk-taker, as in stretching ourselves beyond our comfort zones, is what this Leo New Moon asks of us. With dignity and exuberance, find a way to let your needs and feelings be known to those that matter in your life. Maybe it's a partner, a boss or a child... no matter which relationship(s) could use some TLC, shine your light on them and let them know they are loved.

The New Moon chart shows the Sun and Moon separating from a harmonious aspect to responsible Saturn in Sagittarius. Let's hope the Lights imbued Saturn with enough focus on future goals so that when he turns Direct on the 13th, we'll be able to see the crumbs we left behind and follow them to our dreams. We will need to stayed centered and not give in to doubt and confusion as Neptune is also activated with a need to be adaptable, but not loose our way in the fog.

Mars moved back into Sagittarius today, giving us the energy and determination to proceed on our individual paths. While in Scorpio for about nine weeks, Mars stirred the pot and caused moodiness and aggression to be major players in the scheme of things. Perhaps now, this little fireball can be more active in getting positive fires lit for moving forward!

Remember to let your playful side come out over the next few weeks, be brave in expressing your creative self, but avoid forcing your needs onto others, and make the most of this strong solar energy at the start of this New Lunar cycle and while leading up to the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius on August 18th. You'll see how well you did spreading your light and sharing your love at that time. Then you'll also get to see the new connections and pathways that are opening up to you.

In the meantime, keep your head in the stars and your feet on the ground!

Capricorn Full Moon

Welcome to a somber Full Moon, full of concerns for such serious issues as home and business security and much needed change in national government as well as financial security. The Moon exactly opposes the Sun at 6:56 pm, accentuating 28 degrees of the Cardinal signs Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn. As action signs, you are being urged to take charge and make necessary changes in those areas of your life that involve how you want to see yourself in the world and how you want the world to see you. This involves your relationships at home and at work.

The chart for the Full Moon also shows communicative Mercury making a productive aspect to serious Saturn. The harmony between these two planets can bring about positive growth and help to ensure that you're moving in the direction of creating a more stable foundation for yourself. Speak your mind ask for what you need and remember to be clear and concise.

With Capricorn Moon bringing ease to interactions with giant Jupiter today, business dealings benefit and temperments are mostly pleasant. There was an unplanned disruption midday when Luna squared off with Unconventional Uranus. However temperaments were helped to get back on track with cooperation from Mars mid afternoon, lifting spirits and heading us in the right direction again.

Overall, this moon phase should shed light on what we need to take care of and how we're doing being true to ourselves. So, while changing the world today isn't your responsibility, imagine how much would be accomplished if everybody took care of their own business and and stopped telling each other how to live!

Remember, while putting one foot in front of the other, to keep your head in the stars and your feet on the ground!

Cancer New Moon & The Fourth of July

Today's new Moon just happens to fall on the Fourth of July - how awesome is that?! Fireworks, family, food, friends and fun, a wonderful prescription for summer and Independence Day. With the Lights, Sun and Moon, riding the comfortable waves of this Cardinal Water sign together, we can make time for enjoyment and really look at what gives us security in our homes. Some may be seeking a new home, while others are working to maintain or fix up their homes. Whatever your situation, your nest and comfort figures strongly between now and the Full Moon in two weeks.

The chart for the New Moon has the Sun and Moon conjunct Mercury first, then Venus later tonight. Thinking, talking and planning for what makes you feel supported and safe is the focus of the first alignment. pay attention to dreams that may have suggested what you're seeking. Creative outlets get a lot of boost today for expressing oneself as Luna harmonizes with Neptune. Spending time in, or on, or near the water, in whatever form gets the green light, big time!! Whether it's the ocean, pool, river or lake, get your feet in the water and enjoy the sensation.

The alignment of Mercury with the Sun and Moon sets up an aspect of adjustment to Saturn, reminding us that while we are planning for new possibilities, responsibility still looms large. Take care of business and watch the details you haven't yet ascertained fall into place.  You do your part and let others do theirs and it will all work out in the end!

A challenging opposition from the same three planets mentioned above, to transformational Pluto can help you use your power constructively for good or destructively if you try to assert your will too fast, too soon. Baby steps will work well here; you learn to crawl first, then walk, before you can run! Watch for signs of light seeping through the cracks and know that change is inevitable. Your only course of action is to choose what path you'll take once the way becomes clear.

Happy Fourth everyone, and remember... while keeping your head in the stars and your feet on the ground, be safe out there and watch where you're going~

Sagittarius Full Moon & Summer Solstice

The Full Moon is exact at 7:02 a.m. opposing the Sun in the last degree of Sagittarius/Gemini.  This points to our plans and agreements. Pay attention to the words coming out of your mouth... are you creating what you really want or are you expressing dissatisfaction and/or what you don't want?! It's important not to let our ego (Sun), get the best of our emotions (Moon) right now.

This Full Moon chart also shows a waxing, mutable Grand cross between Mercury (communications and interactions) in Gemini, Jupiter (expansion and exaggeration) in Virgo, Saturn (necessity and restriction) in Sagittarius and Neptune (receptive and impressionable) in Pisces. This is a lot to deal with and can be the cause of things being blown out of proportion if we're not vigilant with how and what we communicate to others. Think before you speak, filter, be truthful, and only say what is necessary.

Jupiter in Virgo is giving a big assist to Pluto in Capricorn by way of a harmonious trine aspect. It's okay to be enthusiastic about our future goals, so long as we're taking small, practical steps to make the changes needed to accomplish them. Just because the cosmic weather is uncertain, it doesn't mean we have to be uncertain of who we are and what we aim to accomplish!

Summer officially arrives at 6:35pm when the Sun enters watery Cancer, emphasizing our homes, our bellies and our emotions for the next month! People can be very emotional or wary of anything that they perceive as a threat to their security. In the Solstice chart, the Moon has moved into Capricorn, focusing on business and career issues, as well as taking care of anyone we're responsible for. With this polarity taking place in the first and seventh houses, it's important to find a balance between our own needs and those of our significant others.

Remember to be kind while you keep your head in the stars and your feet on the ground~

Gemini New Moon

After a Moon/Venus conjunction tonight, Luna joins the Sun at 10:59pm EST in the 15th degree of Gemini. This Air sign is one corner of a Mutable Grand Cross, bringing the Sun, Moon and Venus into contact with Jupiter in mutable Earth, Saturn in mutable Fire and Neptune in mutable Water. All the signs that have to do with adaptability are engaged at this New Moon.

So, what is the function of this alignment of the two Lights, Sun and Moon, in this versatile and restless sign? It's to prod us to use logic while interacting with the many distractions that are attempting to pull us away from our desired path. Being flexible, listening and asking questions will allow change to happen and that's what this is all about.

The last couple of days in the Balsamic Moon phase has kept us in the dark about which way to go to achieve our goals. With the New Moon energy, plans get talked about and options revealed. Just wait a couple of days before agreeing to anything new. The challenge of this Mutable Square is to allow for change to happen, build our self confidence and self-esteem and to answer to our own inner authority.

We get help from another important aspect configuration in the New Moon chart and that is a Grand Trine in Earth signs with Mercury in Fixed Taurus, Jupiter in Mutable Earth and Pluto in Cardinal Capricorn. All of that earth helps get us out of our heads and is just what we need to stay grounded! Garden, weed out your closets, get organized... anything to keep you from waivering when it comes to trusting yourself and the direction you know you want to move in.

Mars is still retrograde, as is Saturn, so that puts a damper on moving too fast. We need to integrate some of the Neptunian energy to find a creative outlet so we don't dwell on self-criticism or indecision. Tuning into your higher self and trusting your inner knowingness as you take small steps forward is the way to go at this new moon cycle. Things become clearer on Monday and Tuesday and by Wednesday and into Thursday, the Leo Moon adds a bright spark of effervescence to help light our way.

Remember to keep your head in the stars and your feet on the ground!

Sagittarius Full Moon

The Full Moon in Sagittarius opposes the Sun in Gemini tonight at 5:14pm EST. While still in Scorpio, earlier today, Luna opposed Venus in Taurus, the Earth sign she rules. This brought up a dilemna between pleasing yourself and pleasing others. If you found a way to steer clear of overly needy people and/or your own selfish inclinations, then you'll probably do alright  with this evening's lunar conjunction  to Mars in Sag as well. More on that later, after we look at the Full Moon!

The highlight of this Full Moon is the big changeover from passionate and creative Scorpio to idealistic and restless Sagittarius. Getting out of our emotions and into the world is always the benchmark of this passage. We build on our deep feelings while the Moon is in Scorpio, then as it moves into the fiery sign of the Archer, we want to use that momentum to feed our inspiration.

Remember that the Moon is now at the midpoint of her journey since the New Moon in Taurus on May 6th. We started out slowly looking at our needs while Mercury was also retrograde and while you may have experienced some frustration over not getting too far, things are about to shift. Mercury is going Direct again tomorrow and will hopefully help you to reassert your values and the direction you want to move in regarding yourself and others.

Where do you want to go from here and what path do you want to take? Sagittarius asks you to be adventurous and trusting. Look at the big picture and your higher purpose on the planet and remember that you've been asked to get out of your comfort zone and consider the needs of others in your life. As the Moon aligns with Mars at 6:43 pm, barely an hour and a half after it's Full, try not to be too impulsive so that you don't begin a journey to somewhere you don't want to go! It's a fine night for socializing if you remember not to overdo, over promise or have higher expectations than what others can provide you with.

Look to the future, have hope and don't jump ship! In the meantime, remember to keep your head in the stars and your feet on the ground!

New Moon in Taurus

Today's New Moon in Taurus strengthens our resolve to build more security into our lives. Taurus is the Fixed Earth sign of the zodiac, ruled by Venus, goddess of beauty and the attracting power of love. Whether you are needing to feel more stable in your finances or in your personal life, this is the time to pay attention to those relationships that bring you harmony and appreciation.

With the Sun and Moon conjoined in this practical sign, energies are aligned with the appreciation of nature, beauty and the arts. The charm and affectionate nature of Taurus people can be very persuasive in attracting others to their sociable ways. Some of Taurus' other attributes include pleasure, friendship, art, music and a refined sense of aesthetics. The caution under Taurus influence is becoming too rigid or stuck in one's own way to the exclusion of options coming from others.

In this New Moon chart, is a Grand Earth Trine to Jupiter and Pluto. All facets of the earth element are represented here, from the power of change (Pluto) in Cardinal and responsible Capricorn to the cautiously optimistic inclusion of Jupiter in Mutable Virgo.
Jupiter goes direct on May 10th which will allow us to utilize the discerning abilities of this 6th sign of the zodiac as we move forward, especially in organization and health concerns.

Expansive Jupiter also opposes nebulous Neptune in Pisces and both square off with pragmatic Saturn in Sagittarius, creating what is known as a T-square. It's like a three-legged table struggling to stay on an even keel while dealing with the necessity of adapting to changing circumstances. What's called for here, is trusting your intuition, remembering what you were taking steps toward and not jumping too fast!

Remember that Mercury, planet of communication and movement, is in retrograde motion. Follow through on things, finish projects and do your research. Remember too, to keep your head in the stars and your feet on the ground!

Aries New Moon

Today's New Moon in Aries, at 19 degrees of this Cardinal Fire sign, is like a match being lit in the dark for a spark of Light.  There is one time a year when the solar and lunar energies come together in the first sign of the Zodiac, presenting us with a fresh start, and that time is now. The New Moon is the seed time for new ideas and projects and the increasing Light, leading up to the Full Moon, supports growth, so make your wish list with the realization that it's for more than just this lunar cycle, it's the start of a whole new year!

The chart for the New Moon includes a waning square to powerful Pluto which brings the gravitas to the bold new direction your life may be moving in. This is an important shift that comes from deep within, one your subconscious knows you are ready for. Do not let uncertainty stop you from exploring the possibilities.
Aries Moon is also coming off of a harmonious aspect to stable Saturn traveling in retrograde motion, that has lent stability and helped with concentration.

Keep your focus on the direction of your goals, even though unruly Uranus came in to join the New Moon this morning and shake things up. The planetary energy of discovery and ingenuity promises the start of a very exciting lunar cycle, if you don't become completely distracted by sudden changes. It's a brave new world out there and today's lunar alignment with revolutionary Uranus underscores the need to stay alert and open to options which you hadn't considered, but which showed up nonetheless!

Both the New Moon in Aries and the Full Moon in Scorpio on April 22nd, are presided over by feisty Mars, along with a major assist from Scorpio's co-ruler, Pluto. These two planets of movement and change turn retrograde one day apart, Mars on the 17th and Pluto on the 18th. They force us to turn inward and review where our true passions lie. Mars represents drive, and being in Sagittarius almost to the end of May, he shows us where our desires lie, while slowing us down to reconsider the direction we want to move in. Can you slow down and focus on yourself while getting to know your own inner passions? That's what is driving you, and everyone else this Lunar cycle. Stay in your lane and get to know yourself better; it's an on-going process!

In the meantime, remember to keep your head in the stars and your feet on the ground.

Full Moon Lunar Eclipse In Libra

Today's Full Moon takes place at 8:01am EST in the 4th degree of Libra. It's also a potent Lunar Eclipse in this Cardinal Air sign that represents harmony, fairness and relating. Libra seeks balance and is always in the process of trying to achieve equality by its powers of attraction. Justice is important here and when the Sun and Moon are in opposition, the need to acknowledge inner harmony with outer compliance gets attention.

What have you learned recently about yourself and your relationships? The Moon is akin to our deepest feelings - the undercurrents of our dreams and personal needs. The light being shed at the Full Moon  illuminates our subconscious and connects us with other dimensions of ourselves and our collective unconscious. The eclipse heightens awareness of our unconscious selves and brings opportunity to accept what we know is true.

Pay attention to your dreams, the symbols that appear in your everyday life and the little voice speaking within that gives words to your longings. These are hints to where you are out of balance, as well as your growth in the beginning of this lunar cycle. On a larger scale, the Moon symbolizes the public and this eclipse will amp up the mood of the whole around collective events involving drama or sadness, contentment or joy. Events that seem fated are a common occurrence during Lunar eclipses and a Libra eclipse will bring calls for justice and peace.

In the chart for the Full Moon we have an exact Jupiter/Saturn square, which is the second of three, given Jupiter's retrograde motion in Virgo, (the first was August 8, 2015). Once Jupiter goes Direct again, the third square will take place on May 26. This presents a crisis between Jupiter in Virgo's need for organizing and weeding out, and Saturn in Sagittarius' need to focus on the future. Sticking to one task at a time will bring the optimistic progress you seek... slow and steady wins the race!

The problem right now is the instability of these changing times and the need to question your motives. What do you believe and what can you live with, or without? Saturn retrogrades on the 25th at 16 degrees, 24 minutes of Sag, and slowly wends his way back to 9 degrees, 47 minutes Sag on August 13th. You have ample time to get right with yourself and your beliefs for a brighter future during this time, so take a look at where those degrees fall in your chart to see where your philosophy of life will be tested.

In the meantime, remember to keep your head in the stars and your feet on the ground!

Solar Eclipse New Moon in Pisces March 8, 2016

We are under the moonbeams today, in the Balsamic Phase of the Moon,
before the New Moon Solar Eclipse in Pisces at 8:54 pm tonight. Cleaning up old business before beginning any major new projects, no matter how much you are itching to start something new, ought to be on your agenda tonight and tomorrow.  Put things to rest, let go of the old and be thankful for what the past has prepared you for. Then, after the Moon becomes active in Aries, at 2:40 pm tomorrow, you can start to initiate new projects.

Now, let's talk about the New Moon and powerful Solar Eclipse at 19 degrees Pisces. Remember that eclipses are powerful times for breaking with the past and jump-starting the future, even if you're not ready. Remember that kids game of hide-and-seek when the kid counting to 100, yells "ready or not, here I come!" Well , that's what an eclipse can do for you, so get ready!

In Pisces, the eclipse asks you to tune into your compassionate, intuitive self and recognize what you need to honor. For some, it's about making a clean sweep of past attitudes, behaviors or associations that no longer serve you as you prepare for a new you. For others, it has to do with where you can be of service and really acknowledging your inner knowingness about what makes you happy. Is it self-worth or making money to put in the bank that fires you up? Everyone needs to make a living, but are you just living to make money or are you enjoying your life everyday, doing something fulfilling?

These are the kinds of questions that can bring insight into the ending of one phase and the beginning of something new and exciting. Let go of what isn't working for you, be kind to yourself and go easy on those around you who may or may not get it. Search within for your answers, be still and listen to that small voice that knows your dreams. Then, when you're ready to break with the past, start planting seeds for having your dreams come true. I heard once, from someone far wiser than myself, that if I couldn't imagine it, I couldn't have it.

Make your wish list tonight after you've connected with your divine self. And remember that the Moon is void immediately after it contacts the Sun, so don't start anything new until the Aries Moon tomorrow afternoon.
Sweet dreams~
Oh, and remember to keep your head in the stars and your feet on the ground.

Full Moon In Virgo

Details, details, details... why not just take care of them and free yourself up to do other things you'd like when all the necessary tasks are out of the way?! The Moon is squarely in Virgo all day long, directly opposing the Sun at 1:20pm, the exact time of today's Full Moon. Other than this major alignment, things are relatively quiet, although we are set up for a bouncy ride tomorrow, hence the need to take care of details today.

There is an approaching lunar aspect to nebulous Neptune overnight that may lull you into a dreamlike state which can bring doubt, confusion or a sense of everything is alright, so there's nothing else I need to take care of right now. Be diligent in your to-do list today because that may be a false impression which blocks an important detail you forgot.

So, what does the Full Moon in Virgo reflect on? As Virgo is ruled by Mercury, it has to do with intellectual pursuits, especially when careful attention to detail is required. The tendency to be overly critical of yourself or others is really strong here, so keep good Virgo boundaries and just critique your own progress. No brow-beating allowed, just skill building and clearing up mistakes as you go!

Another focus is on diet and nutrition, which could involve cleaning out or restocking your herbs and spices, perhaps taking a good look at more natural foods for healthier digestion and therefore better overall well-being. There are books on healthy eating and cooking which can bolster your knowledge of practical applications in your own kitchen. If you're not a cook and eat out a lot, do some research on which food establishments provide organic alternatives and preservative-free dining. The closer to nature the better, and your digestive system will thank you for all the little changes you make now. Here's a link to a website where you can sign up for a healthy Newsletter which my friend Sheri Bishop, a Nutrition specialist in Vermont writes weekly: Striketrue

All week, the Sun in Pisces edges closer to his conjunction with Neptune on Sunday, the 28th. Allow yourself room to daydream, paint, dance, listen to inspiring music and connect with your inner divine self. Escapism is out, that is... avoid sticking your head in the sand and not taking care of business earlier in the week. Wednesday and Thursday are good days for finding harmony in relationships and beatifying your environment. Friday  is a go-with-the-flow kind of day as the Libra Moon is void-of-course all day before moving into Scorpio early Saturday morning. There is more than a bit of mystery surrounding the end of the week.

In the meantime, remember to keep your head in the stars and your feet on the ground, as you listen to that small still voice within~

Aquarius New Moon

The energies surrounding this Aquarian New Moon can be quite dramatic for breaking old patterns or stirring the pot, which will you choose?! If you have planets at 19 degrees of the Fixed signs, within 5 degrees either side, you will feel the affects more strongly than most. The good news is that aspects to the Sun and Moon today support breaking old patterns while building new supportive ones for our dreams and our lives!

A lunar aspect to productive Saturn in fiery Sagittarius early this morning gave a helping hand to inspiring thoughts for new connections that can bring progress as we move into another month-long lunar cycle.  Add in a similar contact with revolutionary Uranus and excitement built for thinking outside the box. Sudden change and rash action are a no-no, but if you have been thinking of what needs to change, the timing is right to begin the process of letting go and moving forward.

A challenging link-up from the Moon to aggressive Mars makes this a good day to think about much needed change. If it's past time to take drastic action, summon up your inner strength. However, if you're just ticked off about something, it won't help matters to force the issue. Wait to take any action until Wednesday when the universe is more supportive and while the Moon is in compassionate Pisces. We are in a long void-of-course Moon phase for the rest of today, lasting into early tomorrow morning. Avoid new starts for a couple of days.

Wednesday brings a very helpful connection when Venus and Jupiter form a flowing trine between pragmatic Capricorn and meticulous Virgo. This can manifest as a positive relationship built on trust, full of worth and value. As with any Venus/Jupiter connection, there is a caution not to overdo a good thing because it could backfire mid-afternoon.

The quiet of Thursday, even under an Aries Moon, could be the kind of cosmic weather you need to present a new idea or proposal. There are no significant aspects that day to stand in the way. Aries Moon is still in effect Friday with a mixed bag of aspects for change along with a caution not to go overboard or force-feed your ideas onto others.

For the most part, a Taurus Moon stabilizes things over the weekend with a very supportive alignment between Mars (energy and drive) and Jupiter (expansion) Saturday night. An opportunity may be presented that helps you better plan your steps to success, especially in business affairs. Take it easy on Sunday and avoid hurt feelings by being clear and not having unrealistice expectations of yourself or others.

Remember to keep your head in the stars and your feet on the ground~

Full Moon In Leo

The Full Moon tonight highlights your need to resolve an inner struggle between your will and your thoughts, your ego and your intellect, your need to be at the center of things and your ability to share your ingenuity with others. Lest you think there is anything more pressing for your creative expression than to provide your community, groups or friends with your original insights, think again! This is the only focus of the Sun in Aquarius and the Moon in Leo in this Full Moon chart.

We are provided with a challenge from Mercury to Uranus to capture any inventive, intuitive or inspired ideas and to make note of them. Just because there is so much going on on the mental plane, that doesn't mean we can afford to let any possibilities slip by unacknowledged without investigating their potential. An approaching aspect between Saturn (responsibility) and Uranus (awakening), a trine, brings the harmony necessary to blend these two energies.

Yes, Mercury is still retrograde until Monday, the 25th, but this Messenger of the Gods is in a crucial alignment with the transformer, Pluto at 15 degrees of Capricorn. Mercury was first conjunct Pluto on December 19, 2015 and yesterday, Jan. 22nd, retrograded back over the same degree, where it will once again contact Pluto in direct movement for the third time on Jan. 29th. What does this mean? You can get to the bottom of something with your detective abilities, your probing mind or just plain stick-to-itiveness! By applying mental elbow-grease you can turn around a situation that has been plaguing you for awhile and find your way to clean up the past and prepare for a rebirth.

Let the Leo Full Moon shine on your inner strengths as you share your hopes and dreams with the people closest to you. Follow through on what needs to be done and work hard to achieve your goals - it is doable if you believe in yourself! The expansiveness of Jupiter in Virgo sitting on the Lunar North Node will help in deciding what to keep, what to discard and how to polish your skills, as well as providing you with the path to whole health for body, mind and soul. Time to roll up your sleeves and get ready to put your plans into action in a couple of weeks.

Remember to keep your head in the stars and your feet on the ground!

Capricorn New Moon 2016

The Moon joins the Sun tonight at 19 degrees of Capricorn. This next lunar cycle is all about practical matters and taking care of business, whether it involves personal or career ambitions. The Cardinal earth sign is known for persevering and their ability to achieve their goals. Sometimes, the all-business, no-nonsense approach of the mountain goat gives the appearance of being too constricted. This is partly due to Saturn's influence as Capricorn's ruling planet.with it's tendency toward thriftiness of emotion, time and resources.

Use this New Moon energy to hone in on your goals and get things done. Mercury, having moved back into Capricorn by retrograde motion aligns with the Sun and Moon to play a supporting role in reviewing facts and figures. Take advantage of this time to do any needed research or revise the steps to succeeding on your chosen path. Mercury will turn direct on January 25th at 14 degrees of Capricorn and won't leave this sign until February 14th when it reenters Aquarius, allowing plenty of time to work on your goals.

Another assist comes from expansive Jupiter in the Mutable earth sign Virgo forming a harmonious trine to the Sun and Moon in this New Moon chart. Since Mercury rules Virgo, the practical organizing skills of this adaptable sign are increased under Jupiter's aptitude for increase and abundance! Look to your higher purpose and how to magnify the positive steps you've made as we begin another lunar cycle.

The planet Uranus plays an active role here bringing inventiveness and intuition into play as it supports individual freedoms and the right to express one's vision of the future. Uranus thinks outside the box, unlike Saturn which is keenly aware of limitations; in this case they are working together to move forward. Whatever practical steps you can take, however slowly it feels, keep your vision of what will give you freedom and independence clearly in mind. This is the month to set the groundwork for success!

Remember to keep your head in the stars and your feet on the ground~
