"We are born at a given moment, in a given place, and like vintage years of wine, we have the qualities of the year and the season of which we are born. Astrology does not lay claim to anything more." - Carl Gustav Jung

Sagittarius Full Moon Followed By The Summer Solstice

The Full Moon is exact at 25 degrees of Sagittarius early tomorrow morning. The Moon has been in this Mutable Fire sign all weekend, interacting with gregarious Jupiter and compassionate Neptune. These planets tend toward optimism and caring and have been acting as a buffer to the recent harsh affects of Mars stirring up emotional drama, in family-loving Cancer, while opposing Saturn in business-like Capricorn. On the other hand, Sagittarius accentuates excess, even fanaticism, and this Moon may actually bring to light the need for self-discipline and focus.

What is being illuminated for you at this Full Moon? Can you see the bigger picture yet? Depending on your efforts since the Gemini New Moon two weeks ago, you may be inspired by your progress to keep moving forward. If, however, your plans have gone astray or just not worked out the way you had planned, this new awareness may show you a better direction to follow. Sagittarius is about looking ahead, not back, and learning all you can to help you reach your goals.

After the Full Moon is exact, she makes no more aspects until a little after noon, moving into Capricorn and shifting gears into work and business pursuits. Best to finish up loose ends or clean off your desk first thing in the morning, before getting a handle on work-related responsibilities in the afternoon.

Tuesday's focus can be on service toward the greater good thanks to a favorable alignment of Saturn and Neptune. This is followed by a very long void-of-course day on Wednesday as the Moon meets intense  Pluto in the early a.m. causing feelings of discontent and disconnectedness to loom all day. Avoid making major decisions or agreeing to anything important today. It is a good day for spiritual focus and getting obsessive feelings like jealousy and/or suspicion under control. Thursday finds the Aquarius Moon better off networking in groups rather than trying to stand out on one's own.

The Sun moves into Cancer on the 21st at the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year. Outgoing emphasis is now on home and family. For the next 30 days, we are driven by our emotions and who or what we care for. Nurturing others and being nurtured is Cancers' major concern. The season of cookouts and BBQs with family and friends is upon us!

The subtle vibrations of the subconscious are tweaked now as Neptune turns retrograde, also on the  21st, signaling a more intuitive or artistic time as we turn inward. Pay attention to what your inner muse is trying to tell you now, until Neptune's Direct motion in late November.

While trying to be be optimistic and also remaining compassionate for all the suffering in the world, remember... keep your head in the stars and your feet on the ground!

Gemini New Moon

This New Moon in Gemini aligns inner feelings and outer actions through logic, reasoning and communication. This is the time for planning and organizing whatever you hope to achieve out in the world. Make a list of steps to take at the start of this lunar Air cycle - phone calls, meetings, research... whatever dreams you want to have come true, begin now.

The chart for the New Moon shows a square to Neptune, encouraging compassion and creativity. Tuning inward and listening to your inner muse is the challenge here. Is there an artistic expression that can come out now? Avoid being overly sympathetic as exuberant Jupiter also squares off with Neptune and risks a lack of boundaries. Being too dreamy or lackadaisical can lead you down a path of deception, but trusting your inner guidance can lead you down a path of beauty and connection.

Keeping the above in mind, you can now view the opposition that the Sun and Moon make to Jupiter. Arranging your path toward distant horizons and bigger views means knowing yourself and applying self-discipline so as not to go careening off after every opportunity or sidetrack along your way. This is the time to remember "not all opportunities are mine", especially if larger than life schemes appear and distract you from your goals! Do apply Jupiter's optimism as healthy fuel to feed your inner fire along the way.

Mercury leaves Gemini on the 4th and swims into Cancer for three weeks, making for emotional connections and moody communication. After the 7th, the Messenger of the Gods creeps up to a conjunction with Mars on the 17th, facilitating powerful and forthright conversations. Be sure to think of what you want to impart before speaking or agreeing to something that would be very hard to back out of later on. Otherwise, it's going to be a very good time to set the wheels of collaboration in motion.

Remember, while running around with your ideas, to keep your head in the stars and your feet on the ground~
