Scorpio New Moon

Welcome to the New Moon in Scorpio, exact at 11:58pm! Are you ready for some intensity? Here we are trying to find some kind of insight into why things are the way they are... whether on the mundane level, think corruption in government, or on the personal level, with emotionally draining relationships or business entanglements. Whatever draws your attention now, you can expect to get up close and personal with it for the entire Lunar cycle.

Scorpio Moon feels things deeply, wants to get the answers, to get to the bottom of things and rebuild a stronger sense of security. It also helps uncover things that were hidden. Some things are being brought to light because their time is up as a clandestine hostage. If we don't face our shadow side or our deepest, darkest secrets, as an individual or a nation, then that energy is projected outside of us, forcing the issue somewhere in our lives. The choice to acknowledge the shadow is yours. Are you going to let go of the power to reclaim your inner strength, or will you do the hard work of deciding what needs to be uncovered and let it go?

Both the Sun and Moon in Fixed Water, oppose surprise-loving Uranus in the Fixed Earth sign of Taurus, setting the stage for sudden situations that can crack us open. The energy here is palpable and it can begin a healing catharsis of letting light into some dark recesses of mind and/or body. Acceptance of the awareness must precede any action that is necessary to replace outmoded habits, insecurities or states of being with a new path toward healing.

If this sounds heavy, that's because it is. Mercury going retrograde on the 31st at 27 degrees of Scorpio will retrace its steps back to 11 degrees and offer us the time needed to get our answers before it goes direct Nov.20th. Remember, retrograde cycles are about reviewing, redoing and renewing. Determine to do your best and don't take things personally. In the meantime, remember to keep your head in the stars and your feet on the ground.

Full Moon in Aries

Welcome to a busy day under a fiery Aries Full Moon, culminating at 5:08 pm EST. In the Northeast, the Sun has come back out and the Moon opposes it to pull us out into the world again. People are jogging, driving, biking and in general, all over the place! Aries does have a tendency to jump into things or go too fast, so try to avoid going over the speed limit!

A couple of planetary aspects today bring an optimistic air to connecting with others, namely positive alignments from both the Sun and Moon to outgoing Jupiter. This can be  beneficial for business dealings, as long as we don't go over the top. At any rate, it has made for a lovely afternoon, carrying us into the evening and the Full Moon.

Emotions heighten at the Full Moon and build from a powerful aspect with Pluto less than an hour later. A sense of unease begins to move over the public, possibly triggering jealousy, insecurity or power struggles. Watch out for secrets being unearthed. Sometimes, things need to be exposed and brought to a head for re-building!

Let the insight from this impact-full Moon phase carry you into the waning weeks ahead, employing whatever necessary actions you have realized during Aries Moon, which is here to remind you that's there's always a new beginning after an ending. Whether it's an ending of an old attitude, an outworn habit or a dis-functional relationship, use the next two weeks to follow through on achieving the balance and harmony you set out to find at the Libra New Moon, before beginning a new course of action.

Until next time, remember to keep your head in the stars and your feet on the ground!
