Winter's Way...

A word or two about my "time" (Saturn) and blogging lately... I have been busy with a new job, car in the garage and walking to work this past week, so it's been difficult to get a couple of uninterrupted hours to write. Also, I have not had a complete day off when I wasn't ill, in over three weeks... Please bear with me and realize that my entries may be shorter than usual, but hopefully filled with enough information for you to use!

We finish the weekend and begin the work week under a Capricorn Moon, good for business and career pursuits. As we are on the down-side of a Moon cycle, this is the time to follow through and make necessary adjustments to projects already begun. Look at conserving your resources and working with what you have right now, not initiating any new plans or arrangements until next weekend.

On Tuesday,  March 1st, Venus, the planet of love and beauty, self-worth and values, moves into Aquarius, the zodiac sign of friendship, innovation and groups, where she will remain until nearly the end of the month. Be aware that while Venus is intently personal and self-concerned, when she travels through the more emotionally aloof Aquarian territory, her values become more closely aligned with the best interests of others. Those others may be friends, committee members or new aquaintainces, making personal concerns have less importance than what's in the best interest of all involved. Aligning one's thoughts and mental energies with others of like-mind while looking for new solutions is the most efficient way of using this energy.

That's it for now my friends... but I'll be back later to write more about what else is happening in the cosmos that will affect us here below the rest of this week.

As always, remember to keep your head in the stars and your feet on the ground!

Compassionate Action and Acute Awareness

As Mars enters the watery sign of Pisces today, we are faced with the news of a devastating earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand (an island), a volcano erupting in the Phillipines (an island) and the murder of the four Americans held hostage at sea, by Somali pirates. Mars has to do with anger, aggression, rash action, taking charge and courage. Pisces is a mutable (adaptable) water sign, ruling the oceans, the flow of impressions, music and photography and service above self.

As images come to us from far away depicting the violence and destruction of these types of events, we feel the pain and suffering in our hearts for all those involved and their loved ones. We are all one, even as we think with our logical minds that we are separate... we are not. Compassionate Pisces allows intuition and psychic impressions to flow, just as it can aid in sending healing vibrations to anyone on any part of this watery planet at any time.

As you go through your day, wherever you are, please send out your loving thoughts and prayers (Pisces) to all those in need. And do (Mars)  whatever you can to assist others in their time of travail. Surely you would want the same consideration if it were you. Again... thoughts are energy and as time goes by, their importance will be realized more and more on this planet we call home. I en-courage everyone to eliminate the negative thoughts and focus on the positive ones, sending out goodwill at every moment.

Sending out light and love as we remember to keep our heads in the stars and our feet on the ground~

Dazed and Confused: A Full Leo Moon, Sun in Pisces & The Neptunian Influence

I wanted to write this Blog last weekend, but being on the road all last week seeing clients and in Boston for a workshop, then home to a new part-time job, made it tough to find a couple of hours of quiet time to do so. Now I am focusing on two celestial events that will profoundly and subtly affect today and beyond - the Full Moon that occurred early this morning at the last degree of  the zodiac sign Leo and the Sun's entry in Pisces later this evening.

Sometimes we need to back up to get a proper perspective on why and how we got to where we are in order to understand the way forward. Let's take a quick peek at last night's gregarious Leo Moon in opposition to first Mercury in intellectual Aquarius, then opposing Mars, also in this same fixed Air sign. Both Leo and Aquarius are "fixed" signs; that means they store energy and tend toward stubbornness, not easily releasing their Leonine love or their Aquarian knowledge. I remind you that they are opposite sides of the same coin of loving concern. Fiery Leo happens to express itself dramatically, requiring your adoration, while Airy Aquarius prefers being immersed in the group energy, calling attention to their progressive and far-ranging ideas.

The dazed and confused part of this entry starts with Mercury, the planet of communication and interaction, and Mars, the action planet, both being on the airy side of the coin last night while the very nearly Full Moon was getting ready to burst it's warm-hearted generosity in a dazzling display of reflected light from the Aquarian Sun! All this took place in the last couple of degrees of these signs, making it even harder to know what to do with recent communication, or lack thereof, and your enthusiasm for where you have chosen to shine your light lately. Maybe Valentine's Day put some focus on your heart this week and you felt warm and fuzzy one minute and insignificant the next. Or that project you just put so much energy into was received warmly by the boss, then seemingly cast aside for that heap of  "more important concerns". What's a sentient being to do...?!

Today's Full Moon, happening in the wee hours way before dawn, will continue to have a disseminating affect even as the Moon itself has already traveled into Virgo territory. All that pent-up energy waiting to be dispelled calls for strength and wisdom to know when and what to share. Getting some attention from a Venus/Saturn square today, these two feminine energies in mutual reception, (in each others' signs - Venus in Capricorn and Saturn in Libra), press the discerning need for looking at your own resources, emotional and physical, before jumping to conclusions or trying to effect changes that aren't yet happening. That's a mouthful... to be re-read and digested slowly! When I  said feminine energy, I was speaking of the receptive nature of these two planets,  as opposed to the out-going masculine nature of  Mars and Jupiter.

The Sun's entry in to the last sign of the zodiac, Pisces, signals a month ahead of tuning in to our divine nature, the part of us connected to spirit which can be accessed in quiet contemplation or meditation. Pisces is a mutable Water sign, flowing as it does around and between all beings on this planet where water makes up most of our physical structure as well as our home, Mother Earth. Knowing no boundaries, Pisces brings compassion and emotional connection to us. As much as we need to be aware of our "oneness", it can often feel overwhelming if we don't visit the Virgo polarity of this coin to set good boundaries for ourselves and ask in quiet solitude, is this my issue... can I do something about it... and if so, what can I do?

Mercury and Mars both move into Pisces next week calling for tuning into our higher selves and putting our efforts into compassionate understanding of all being in the same boat so-to-speak. However, the drifting part of Pisces can cause problems if we aren't trying to be clear in setting personal guidelines for ourselves. Definitely tune in to your intuition as opposed to tuning out in escapist behaviors, (ie: too much alcohol or drugs or one novel after another...) especially when it counts for finding your way through the fog. Sometimes in the weeks ahead, you may be tempted to just throw your hands up and retreat in a surrendering fashion - know when you need to do this for clarity or when you're just pulling down the veil of denial or burying your head in the sand.

We're beginning to learn how to better experience the Neptunian vibration without burning out and in preparation for Neptune's entry into Pisces, it's home territory, on April 4th. Practice listening to yourself and trusting your intuition now while Mercury, the "messenger of the Gods" is making this direct hook-up to the divine. Be careful not to delude your self with messages that are coming from your ego mind or some dis-enchanted entity that came through your meditation because you didn't remember to first set good boundaries around your etheric body. Some poor souls who are already dealing with mental illness or lack guidance may experience greater confusion ahead; only give what you can and remember to keep your own sanity intact. Ask for guidance through prayer and meditation and let go of that which you cannot control.

PS/ It is a great time to relax on vacation, especially by the ocean, as Pisces rules oceans. Knowing when and how to retreat are the hallmarks of a spiritual warrior!

As always, remember to keep your head in the stars and your feet on the ground.

Initiate, FollowThrough and Inform Others

We are in the waxing Crescent Moon phase and moving toward the First Quarter Moon on Friday as we build up to the Full Moon on the 18th. Coming off a New Moon, the light of the thin crescent was visible low in the western sky just after dusk on Friday. What a sweet sight, to see the light re-emerging after the total darkness last week!

The current waxing Moon energy delivers the promise of new beginnings and is a perfect time for the growth of an idea or a project! This is increased by the Moon entering Aries, the first sign of the zodiac, this evening. Whatever you had been holding off from starting for the previous two weeks is the thing you need to be putting a lot of effort and energy into now. It doesn't have to be just one thing you want to begin, but there is a caution not to start too many things or act recklessly right now because you'll need to be able to sustain a certain level of activity to make things happen.

Back to this week... We get a good jump on the work week, courtesy of that Aries Moon in effect all day Monday and Tuesday. Just be careful to avoid power struggles early in the morning when the Moon and Pluto square off. Apply your intense efforts to transforming how you encourage others to work with you or how well you can bite your lip, as this is a classic aspect for secrecy, suspicions and jealousy. Try not to get sucked in to the unsettled feelings!

The Sun and Moon are actively supporting each other Tuesday allowing harmonious feelings to align with our thoughts and letting contentment settle in. Use this day to make productive gains on what you want to accomplish; it's an easier day to gain much needed co-operation from others than Monday.

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday morning are under the Taurus Moon influence when people tend to be more cautious and concerned with comfort or the status quo. Financial concerns fall into this realm, as do things pertaining to gardens, the earth and anything tactile. This is the time for following through on projects already begun, really applying that elbow grease to continuing your hard work. It is not typically a good time to try and get others to change their minds about helping you, especially if their resources are involved, so exercise restraint and wait for a better time if you need to ask for something. Try to enjoy Mother Nature one of these days with a walk outside.

Avoid self-deception and feelings of vulnerability Friday afternoon as Taurus Moon makes it's last aspect to nebulous Neptune, beginning a three hour void-of-course (VOC) moon phase before it enters communicative Gemini at 5:20 p.m. The zodiac sign of the Twins is an Air sign bringing with it a mental focus, especially devoted to talking, writing and socializing. Friday night is a good night for an intellectual gathering or a poetry reading... maybe getting a new book to read.

Saturday finds talkative Gemini moon interacting all over the place - expect to have the phone ringing or to be engaged with lots of contact. There is no real negative charge to the weekend and you could have a pleasant time so make some plans to reach out and connect; siblings, neighbors or co-workers come to the forefront!

As always, remember to keep your head in the stars and your feet on the ground!

New Moon in Aquarius

New Moons happen when the Sun and Moon both line up in their passage through the same sign of the zodiac. This is the start of a new cycle, when the inner and outer align to point the way and reflect on what is being "seeded" in the coming month. Aquarius is a fixed air sign and signifies the need to connect with others through common pursuit, shared beliefs or humanitarian efforts.

This New Moon occurs at 13 degrees and 54 minutes of Aquarius. The Sabian symbol for 14 degrees of Aquarius is "A Train Entering a Tunnel". The symbolism implies the intense focus on a certain course of action - the need to stay on track even in the dark! This is a powerful image of forward movement that reminds us to follow through on our dreams. For some, this one-pointed direction may be just what they needed to get moving towards fulfilling a goal. For others, who have no problem pushing their own agenda, there is a reminder here to avoid alienating anyone else who is riding the same train with similar goals.

We all need to ask ourselves...  how are we doing considering the efforts of everyone else working with us on the same project, committee or Board? The air element contains movement that flows from place to place, ear to ear or idea to idea. Aquarian energy is group energy that is innovative and exciting. Whenever planets are in this sign of the zodiac we get to think outside the box and share our ideas, brainstorming for a better way to reach our goals, getting and giving feedback and trying new ways of relating to old issues.

So, at this New Aquarian Moon, plant your seeds for new beginnings in shared pursuits, new connections, friendships, trying something new or looking at your hopes and dreams with a new perspective. Write your wish list for the month ahead and start putting your efforts out there. The time is now to shake off doubt and to begin moving forward again! Oh, and if that train you're riding on has a big light on the front, turn it on because it's dark in that tunnel.

Remember to keep your head in the stars and your feet on the ground!
