"We are born at a given moment, in a given place, and like vintage years of wine, we have the qualities of the year and the season of which we are born. Astrology does not lay claim to anything more." - Carl Gustav Jung

Aries New Moon

Today's New Moon in Aries, at 19 degrees of this Cardinal Fire sign, is like a match being lit in the dark for a spark of Light.  There is one time a year when the solar and lunar energies come together in the first sign of the Zodiac, presenting us with a fresh start, and that time is now. The New Moon is the seed time for new ideas and projects and the increasing Light, leading up to the Full Moon, supports growth, so make your wish list with the realization that it's for more than just this lunar cycle, it's the start of a whole new year!

The chart for the New Moon includes a waning square to powerful Pluto which brings the gravitas to the bold new direction your life may be moving in. This is an important shift that comes from deep within, one your subconscious knows you are ready for. Do not let uncertainty stop you from exploring the possibilities.
Aries Moon is also coming off of a harmonious aspect to stable Saturn traveling in retrograde motion, that has lent stability and helped with concentration.

Keep your focus on the direction of your goals, even though unruly Uranus came in to join the New Moon this morning and shake things up. The planetary energy of discovery and ingenuity promises the start of a very exciting lunar cycle, if you don't become completely distracted by sudden changes. It's a brave new world out there and today's lunar alignment with revolutionary Uranus underscores the need to stay alert and open to options which you hadn't considered, but which showed up nonetheless!

Both the New Moon in Aries and the Full Moon in Scorpio on April 22nd, are presided over by feisty Mars, along with a major assist from Scorpio's co-ruler, Pluto. These two planets of movement and change turn retrograde one day apart, Mars on the 17th and Pluto on the 18th. They force us to turn inward and review where our true passions lie. Mars represents drive, and being in Sagittarius almost to the end of May, he shows us where our desires lie, while slowing us down to reconsider the direction we want to move in. Can you slow down and focus on yourself while getting to know your own inner passions? That's what is driving you, and everyone else this Lunar cycle. Stay in your lane and get to know yourself better; it's an on-going process!

In the meantime, remember to keep your head in the stars and your feet on the ground.
