"We are born at a given moment, in a given place, and like vintage years of wine, we have the qualities of the year and the season of which we are born. Astrology does not lay claim to anything more." - Carl Gustav Jung

Capricorn New Moon

The Sun and Moon come together at 8 degrees of the Cardinal earth sign, Capricorn for a new Moon emphasizing the practical responsibilities of staying focused on the here and now. With Capricorn's ruler, Saturn, engaging both Jupiter (expansion) and Uranus (excitement) positively, there will be times this month for growth and forward movement. But first, let's address the New Moon conjunct a retrograde Mercury.

That's right, Mercury Rx in Capricorn will be requiring us to turn inward for a little over another week, which allows us the time to slow down and tie up any loose ends before charging into the new year. Is there some communication or interaction that needs to happen in order to clear things up, whether from the recent past or long ago? Review, reflect and renew as necessary!

Adding to this theme, Mars is aligned with Neptune on the South Node... let it go, let it go, let it go!! The situations and/or emotional ties that bind are holding you back if they no longer serve their purpose. Use Mars momentum to take action; maybe that's asking for forgiveness, forgiving someone else or getting out of a tough situation. Whatever it is, you can do this! The Sun and Moon also align positively with the Nodes  to help us form more positive alliances, especially in key relationships moving forward.

What would you say if the universe provided you with all the tools to clean up your act and close out 2016 in a productive manner, ready to take on 2017? Well , that's what is being offered in this New Moon chart as we leave behind the old year and prepare to move into the new one. Saturn (necessity) and Chiron (healing), are the behind-the-scenes players bringing the energy to heal wounds and methodically move forward.once you're unencumbered.

Set your intention to take it slowly, care of business and tie up the loose ends of 2016 as you prepare for 2017. Oh, and remember to keep your head in the stars and your feet on the ground!
