Happy New Year and Potent New Moon!!

   A new year opening up on a New Moon is quite rare and adds to the potential of any intentions you set for yourself at this time. A couple of things make this a potent time, including an alignment with powerful Pluto, followed by a conjunction to communicative Mercury and a supportive assist from serious Saturn. This is a year of transformation of your soul's purpose and the New Moon in Capricorn implies the instinctual need for becoming the master of your own destiny, aligned with renewed power to take action!

   The Solar/Lunar alignment with Pluto at this time means you need fearless introspection as you lay the past aside and get real with yourself. You know what you hunger for and you know what you need to release in order to move forward. This New Moon empowers you to take action and make progress toward your own goals. Capricorn is a Cardinal sign, especially driven to setting business, career and professional goals in motion. Now is not the time to be hesitant... go, be, do and don't look back!!

   Mercury also aligning with this New Moon adds to the ability to hone your mental skills in on your priorities. There is a lot of outside pressure from aspects to Mars, Jupiter and Uranus that are pushing you to take sudden, big moves or quick action; I would caution you against any far-flung moves that don't support your well thought out path at this time! Saturn in Scorpio is being positively aspected by the Moon for an opportunity to accomplish  a step in the right direction, depending on how or who you align yourself with at this time. Notice how I keep saying at this time...?! That's because Saturn is the Keeper of Time and as the ruler of Capricorn, is reminding us that the time is now to take action and take care of business!

   After all is said and done, you know you are ready for a change and that you need to rely on yourself to make said change... because no one else is going to do it for you. The Capricorn New Moon, forming this harmonious alignment with Saturn, brings both the energy for the hard work required and the opportunity to accomplish a step in the right direction. A few words here about f.e.a.r. (false evidence appearing real...) no one and no thing can stop you unless you let fear creep in. This is the time to banish fear and hesitation!! Again, go, be, do and don't look back.

   Yes, we start the New Year under Venus and Jupiter Retrogrades, but I see that as appropriate for resetting of goals and identifying your core values. Venus retrograde allows you to get back in touch with yourself and what matters most of all to you. What resources do you have to work with and how can they best serve you? Be very specific about what gives you the sense of security you desire and how much you actually need. Saturn's limiting influence around all of this means that with honesty, hard work, focus and determination, you can be very productive. Just don't expect immediate results. Instead, be patient and look for signs of success down the road, maybe waaay down the road, like in early July.

Gemini Full Moon and Winter Solstice 2013

   Welcome to the busiest Full Moon of the year! It's apt that the Gemini Moon occurs around the Holidays, with all the social activities, planning and errands. We are certainly having to make mental checklists each day... did I get that done... what am I forgetting... who do I need to call now?!  The adaptability of this Mutable Air sign can be a both a blessing and a curse with so many people running to and fro. The Sun  in Sagittarius opposing this Moon adds to the expansiveness of wanting to do it all... be at every party... not leave anything out... there are many reasons to be cautious here!

   My suggestion would be to decide (make up your mind...) to do only so much. Perhaps the communication you need is to let others know you are waiting to hear from them, that you have met your limit, and it's time for them to report back. Maybe you are planning an event , making a new schedule or negotiating with neighbors, siblings or co-workers. All of these possible scenarios require research, focus and adjustment or compromise. The Gemini Full Moon will illustrate where you are expending your mental energy so be sure to use your thoughts and words wisely.

   The Sun enters the last Cardinal sign of the Zodiac, Capricorn, to kick off the Winter season on Saturday, the 21st. This is known as the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year for daylight, and marks the point in the year signaling the return of the Light and longer days ahead. This is also the time for pulling in and getting work done in preparation for the coming thaw several months from now. Capricorn energy is best used by focusing on business and career goals and taking care of practical matters. The Solstice point is the important beginning of the "new" year and it is wise to set one's intentions now and take actual steps to secure growth in those areas in the coming year.

   Winter Solstice has significance for mundane (worldly) matters, as well as in one's personal chart. Wherever you have Capricorn in your chart shows you where your personal responsibility lies.  In the first house, you want to be taken seriously and need to be able to back up the image you present to the world. However, with Pluto transiting this sensitive first house, you have been experiencing basic changes in your physical structure, how you look, or are transforming into a whole new persona.

   In the US chart, the Sun is affecting the area of Government structure and financial concerns; the need for change is obvious in any system that isn't working the way it was intended. Sometimes systems have to change to be viable once more. This time of year always points out where we need to work hard and with Pluto in Capricorn, where transformation is taking place.

Sagittarius New Moon

   Today's New Moon in the fiery sign Sagittarius heralds a month of inspiration, aspiration and enthusiasm. As the Sun and Moon join together, let your inner truth and outer quest expand into oneness as you seek answers on your path to wholeness. The past month, with the Sun in  Scorpio, Fixed Water, signified an intense need to share emotional desires and create lasting productive liaisons. Now it is time to take all your creativity and joint projects to new heights of endeavoring!

   This is the last New Moon of 2013 and the final time before the Sun enters industrious Capricorn at the Winter Solstice on December 21st, to adjust your thinking and your endeavors to suit the new goals you are setting for yourself this lunar month. Sagittarius is the sign of the seeker, philosopher and teacher, always ready to chase new horizons in its' quest for truth and a higher purpose. What is your purpose and how do you see yourself fitting into the bigger picture?

   The underlying energy of this New Moon has to do with our higher selves and the highest ideals to which one can aspire. There is a caution not to get on one's soapbox or to proselytize one's beliefs, because while they might be right for you, they are not for everyone! The expansiveness of Sag's ruler, Jupiter, reminds us of the inclusiveness of many different beliefs and faiths. New Moon Solar Eclipse and the Fourth Uranus/Pluto Square

   Hello everyone... are you feeling the weight of the world being lifted or holding you down? It's a dark time with yesterday's fourth exact square of Uranus (revolution and the unexpected) and Pluto (decay and rebirth) happening at the darkest time of the lunar cycle, the Balsamic phase, just before tomorrow's New Moon in Scorpio. Phew, that was a mouthful! And, thankfully, not the end of the matter...

  What is happening out there, in the world, is also a reflection of where you are at in here. What is happening overall is the need for change - out with the old decaying structures, agreements and behaviors that no longer serve humanity. That's the Uranus/Pluto square in Aries (fire) and Capricorn (earth). All this upheaval all around the world creates a sense of foreboding and uncertainty that can bring up fear. Are you buying into the fear and feeling like you have no power or are you in charge of your life and your attitude? You are the only one who can decide to see the potential in the coming changes, the one who can make the most of every day, no matter what it brings.    The New Moon occurs at 7:50a.m. in the twelfth degree of Scorpio tomorrow, Sunday, November 3rd. It is also a rare, hybrid (Annular and Total) Solar Eclipse of the Sun, meaning that some parts of the path of the eclipse are annular while others are total. Here in the Northeast, we will experience the annular part of the eclipse, getting a partial view of the Sun beyond the dark covering of the Moon.    Now for the astrological interpretation of the Solar Eclipse... When the Sun (vitality and life force) comes together with the Moon (instinctual behavior) in the Fixed Water sign Scorpio, it can bring a lot of emotional undercurrents to the surface. These can be creative passions, jealousies or secrets, which rise up to be released. Hopefully, whatever comes up for you, you decide to release what isn't productive and funnel your creative energies into something more fulfilling and life-affirming!

Full Moon Lunar Eclipse In Aries & Mercury Retrograde

  Tonight's Full Moon is at Aries 26: A Man Possessed Of More Gifts Than He Can Hold. Lynda Hill, brilliant Sabian Symbol interpreter has this to say: This can show talents, possessions, opportunities and possibilities that may be overwhelming, or, it can show the need to let go of some things in your life that are now redundant, not working or not bringing you any rewards from hanging onto them. To me, this says let go of what is outdated, outmoded or no longer useful in my life. This can include things, relationships and even old "gifts" that were once very meaningful in my life.

   The Libra New Moon asked us to look at putting things back into balance in our lives. This Full Moon eclipses what we need to let go of in order to do that. The Lunar Eclipse highlights where you have more than enough to hold, juggle or balance in your life. Remember that Eclipses can be powerful times of jumping ahead if you use the energy wisely. If you acknowledge what you feel strongly about in certain situations or relationships, you will know the truth of whether or not they still serve to add balance and harmony in your life.

   This weekend, Saturday night to be exact... we also have energetic and aggressive Mars in analytical Virgo opposing nebulous Neptune in free-flowing Pisces. That says to me, be careful not to let your idiosyncrasies get the better of you. Know what's important and let go of the small stuff, especially if it involves seeing the beauty in relationships. Take care of your part and let others take care of theirs. 

   Be compassionate and understanding without being overly critical. Perhaps, treat others as you would like to be treated yourself. And avoid a tendency to bury your head in the sand or imbibe too much as you don't want to create a situation where you didn't pay attention to the signals in front of you just because it was too uncomfortable. Know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em!! 

   Okay, a quick reminder that Mercury goes retrograde on Monday through November 10th. We have been in the shadow phase of this Mercury retrograde in Scorpio since October 1st and will stay in the shadow even after Direct motion, until Mercury moves beyond 18 degrees Scorpio on November 27th, just in time for Thanksgiving!

   I am reminded of something I learned long ago, that not all opportunities are available to me just because they present themselves. Sure I want to have people, situations and things in my life and I believe that the ones meant for me, come to me when I am ready to accept them and when I recognize them as my gifts. May you have clarity in identifying your own gifts and their purpose in your life.

The Autumnal Equinox and Libra New Moon

   Why am I talking about the Fall Equinox when it already took place a week and a half ago? Because the Sun moving into Libra is the midpoint of the year astrologically and it marks a turning point in the cycle bringing our focus from self to others, reminding us that we are not alone, we do indeed need each other! The Sun returning to Libra each year allows us to tend to our partnerships, perhaps even to nurture new relationships. And the coming together of the Sun and Moon in Libra define a more concentrated focus for the next month.

   Today's New Moon in Libra, occurring at 8:34pm, is the best time for planting seeds of new beginnings in partnership, both with self and others. I like to think about things during the darkest days of the lunar cycle and make my "wishlist" sometime during the 24 hours surrounding the New Moon, just before or on the day of the new moon. Then, just as the thinnest edge of the crescent moon begins to show itself a day or two later, I am ready to bring awareness to those things I need to do to move towards fulfilling that list. Planting seeds in the dark can be scary because we don't know what will grow, but as the light increases we can see the shoots and really work hard to nurture that new growth.

  With the Sun in Libra, there are usually plenty of opportunities for socializing and getting outside of the self to mingle and get to know others' and their ideas and what they have to offer. If you're someone who likes to be alone but wants to be in a relationship, the seeds to plant need to include how you can change your routine or your habits to meet others halfway. Have you been asked by friends to attend an event or come to dinner but you turned it down because you're uncomfortable in situations where you will meet new people? That's exactly what you need to do - push yourself a bit and talk or listen and get to know who else is interested in similar things. If you're not meeting people where you are, you need to go out where they are and that might involve getting out of one's comfort zone!

    If you are feeling stagnant and always see the same people over and over, perhaps it's time to join a class, go to a community gathering or eat out at a new restaurant. Whatever you do, make sure you say hello to someone new and maybe engage in a bit of conversation, otherwise you're just keeping to yourself again. Listening is a great way to get to know a new person, then you can ask simple questions, like how long have you lived here?, or what interests you about this author? Be prepared to answer a few questions about yourself as well. Whatever interests you have, others have them too... and you can find ways to connect if you reach out during the next two weeks as the Moon cycle builds up.

      New beginnings need to be tended to in order to flourish and grow and Libra reminds us that it's all about give and take. Balance and harmony are Libra's keywords and while some couples and partnerships make it look easy, it usually isn't.  We don't just jump into relationships, we have to get to know the other person.  New starts in a stagnant relationship require both parties to come to the table and put in effort, just as finding inner peace requires honesty with the self to let go of those thoughts or memories of the past that keep us unbalanced. Creating harmony and beauty in our environment doesn't just happen - it has to begin with you, then go out to include others.

    Make some time this month to create random acts of kindness and senseless acts of beauty and notice the smiles popping up all around you! And while you're at it, remember to keep your head in the stars and your feet on the ground~
  

Harvest Moon ~ Pisces Full Moon

   The name given this early Autumn Moon is the Harvest Moon and the degree this Full Moon happens to fall on is 27 Pisces. Here is the Sabian Symbol for this Full Moon at that degree: "The Harvest Moon Illumines A Clear Autumn Sky". Here is what Dane Rudhyar had to say about this symbol: "For astronomical reasons, the full moon of early autumn, the Harvest moon, appears slightly larger than all other Full Moons. These are the days for reaping of the good harvest if all has gone well. This symbol brings us the message that the time has come to reap what we have not only sown, but also cultivated - or failed to cultivate."

   What Rudhyar is highlighting with his description of Elsie Wheelers' symbol for 27 degrees of Pisces is consummation. In this karmic moment the seed of the new cyclic manifestation is already latent. What does that mean for us? Any full moon highlights the path we have taken from the new to the full during this current lunar cycle. What seeds did you plant, or skills did you start to polish, or new habits did you begin, under the Virgo New Moon two weeks ago? Have your efforts begun to bring order into your life? Today's Full Moon will show you your progress.

   If you have done well you can reap some of the rewards. If you have faltered in your tasks, all is not lost - just look closely at where you got off the path and apply renewed vigor to eliminating the obstacles on your path for the period of the waning moon, from now until the next new moon on October 4th. The Pisces influence of this Full Moon can appear in many guises, from "oneness" to feeling too impressionable and needing to escape. Sympathy, compassion and a lack of boundaries are attributes of this flowing Water sign so if you are experiencing feeling too much of everyone else "stuff", you may need to retreat for awhile to be able to focus on your own stuff.

   The veils between the seen and unseen are very thin now and we can experience a greater sense of intuition and knowing, without having to see. If you are experiencing difficulty with your own spiritual compass, you need to get quiet and go within to reconnect with your higher self. Virgo New Moon & Mercury in Libra

   Here we are at the start of another Moon phase, with today's New Moon in Virgo bringing focus to the daily chores, scheduling and minutia of our lives. The kids go back to school and parents sigh with renewed appreciation for the orderliness of school year structure. It's time to get all your ducks in a row as we make the yearly transition from summer into Fall. While the Sun preceded the Moon into Virgo two weeks ago, and we have a little over two weeks until the autumnal Equinox, it's this new Lunar phase kicking in that allows for real organization and progress.

   There are a couple of ways to look at Virgo, a mutable Earth sign ruled by mercurial Mercury... change your mind and you change your life!  There's the inner component of working on healthy new habits and the outer component of making things neat and tidy in your environment. First, the inner... in order to make changes that stick, one needs to set one's intention for positive growth and change and work with self-talk, (that's the mind part). F or instance, if you want to quit smoking, every time you have the urge for a cigarette, you replace the thought "I could sure use a smoke right now..." with " I am no longer a smoker!" Say it out loud each time and your subconscious begins to believe you, as you back it up with a different action of a drink of water, stretching or taking a deep breath - anything but a smoke!!

   As to diet and nutrition, Virgo rules the intestines, where the body decides what nutrients to use where. So any dietary change you feel you need for your improved health, this is the time to weed out the bad habits and work on the good ones. It does however, take continual vigilance and that's the beauty of Virgo's assistance, whether it's cutting sugar, gluten or dairy out of your diet, or quitting a bad habit, you now have the added support of being able to pay attention to the details. Use the same type of self talk as above, followed by a positive action and practice it all day, every day. As Virgos know, the devil is in the details. Set your intention, tell yourself and the universe about your new healthy habit and practice it each time the thought comes into your head, until it becomes instinctual!

   Outwardly, organization allows you the freedom and time to do many things productively instead of floundering around looking for that one piece of paper that you need tonight and three other things are left undone because you spent a couple of hours going from one place to another discovering new things that need attention or just being distracted. I know what I'm talking about here... it's been a life-long struggle to become more organized and when I am, my life flows in a more harmonious way!

    Mercury moves into the Cardinal Air sign Libra next Monday, September 8th for 3 weeks. Until then, while Mercury is still in Virgo, get your desk cleaned up, make your appointments and get it in writing. Oh, and avoid being super critical with yourself and others! Once Mercury is in Libra, communication and interactions can become more balanced. The focus definitely shifts to relationships of all kinds and talking about relationships and what it would take to regain harmony becomes the norm. Speaking about peaceful moods and sharing ideas, as well as listening to your partner are all on Mercury's agenda from the 9th to the 29th.

Aquarius Full Moon And Sun & Mercury Into Virgo

  The Full Moon at 29 degrees of Aquarius highlights how well we've done connecting and interacting with our circles, whether they be friends, committees, or those of like mind and spiritual practice. This reminds us to reach out and touch someone metaphorically as well as in actuality. Who do you need to call... pick up the phone and dial it now! What do you need to do to be more involved in your community... check out that group or gathering you've been hearing about and meet some new people!!

   Aquarius is the Fixed Air sign that is the polarity of Leo, Fixed Fire, so the interaction of the Moon here and the Sun there can ignite people stuck in their thinking with those stuck in their egos or will. Until they realize that their way of thinking is not the only way to think and their manner of self-expression isn't the only way to be, these two energies will collide. The opposition of the Full Moon always reminds us to take turns... "tell me what you think, okay, I get that, here's what I wanted to do, say, etc..." This is the quintessential group energy after all and Aquarius isn't concerned with emotions, just looking at how to move ahead in the most beneficial way for all involved. This Full Moon reminds us not to take life so personally as we're all on this ride together on Planet Earth.

   The Sun moves into the Mutable Earth sign Virgo on Thursday, August 22nd, ushering in a month-long opportunity for polishing your skills and addressing your organizational needs. Virgo is concerned with details, cleanliness and health, therefore, instituting new habits is a great idea for the month ahead. You've probably heard the old axiom, "a place for everything, everything in its place and all's right with the world". Well, it's Virgo's job to purify and perfect, so, if something is out of sorts in your environment, your body or your mind, this is the time to let go of old habits, change your negative thinking about a person, place or thing or start eating healthier. Virgo rules the intestines and the best thing you can do for your body is to rid it of toxins and anything that doesn't serve your good health.

   The closest planet to the Sun is Mercury, which moves very quickly around Sol in its orbit and symbolizes logic, thinking and interacting. Mercury is known as the Messenger of the Gods and for being the go-between of the Divine and the human mind and when s/he follows the Sun into Virgo on Friday, August 23rd, we will have lots to mull over. Another facet of Virgo is the ability to analyze details and be discerning about choices. So, take the paragraph above about the Sun in Virgo and put it together with Mercury in Virgo and you'll realize that now is the perfect time to weigh your options and decide your best course of action. The downfall here would be to be overly fastidious or too self-critical or judgmental of others... take your own inventory and clean up your own act, while leaving others to do theirs. If you tend to be a worry-wart or already have a lot of Virgo in your natal chart, tread lightly and avoid over thinking every little detail, conversation, possibility, etc., etc. You get the idea, enough thinking and scrutinizing already, now go, be and do!!

Happy New Moon in Leo

   Last night's New Moon in Leo begins a lunar phase of enthusiasm and creativity that will play out over the next four weeks. The Sun and Moon came together at 5:51 pm, which began a very long void-of-course Moon period lasting until 11:57 pm tonight, when the Moon moves into Virgo. So, while New Moons are about new beginnings, you do not want to start anything during a void Moon if you want to be assured of the outcome. Therefore, clean off the desk, clear out your mind and get rid of clutter to make space for renewed activity on Thursday!

   Today could be a difficult day of push me, pull me energy with giant Jupiter in watery Cancer opposing transformative Pluto in Capricorn. Pluto starts out destructive, ridding us of decay, contamination and infection for a cleansing or healing catharsis. It's job is always to transform, and in Capricorn, it's tasks begin with breaking down the old worn out structures or status quo which are not working. As Cancer and Capricorn are opposite sides of the same Cardinal coin, and both like to be in charge, we are dealing here with safety and security issues triggered by emotions (Cancer) and practical, everyday necessities. If someone, or something, seems to be a threat, ask yourself what it may be time to let go of. Are they just present in your life now to act as a catalyst for growth? What do you need to let go of in order to heal? Only you know the answers...

   Mercury leaves Cancer on Thursday, where s/he was treading water and retrograde for a time all of June and July..., for a two week vacation in Leo before moving on into Virgo on the 23rd. That's a whirlwind of activity in a short span of time! First, let's consider Mercury (communication and interaction) in fiery Leo; talk about romance, drama and risk-taking!! Saying what's on your mind without putting your foot in your mouth is the goal here, and saying it from the heart, lovingly, is how to do it. If declaring your love for someone for the first time, you may be concerned about rejection, but coming from the heart will help everyone to express themselves appropriately. Talking to the boss or loan officer at your bank (Leo) about what you need could be timely now as those in charge want to help when the Sun and Mercury are in regal Leo.

   When Mercury goes into mutable Virgo later this month, we need to be very discerning in our choices. Look at your options and get all the information to make informed decisions before acting on anything. Since Virgo rules the intestinal tract, it's also a really good time to change up your dietary habits, replacing non-nutritional "comfort" foods with food that's closer to the source (live, grown locally and organic, as opposed to boxed with preservatives from who-knows-where...). Let nature put it's bounty to good use in your body and help you feel healthier! Watch out for a tendency to obsess and over-analyze that can lead to worry and sleepless nights. Do what you can and leave the rest alone.

   Venus has been in Virgo for two weeks now, putting the financial focus on decisions and boundaries, meaning budgets and have-to spending, not "want it" indulgences. Take care of business and try not to be too self-critical or judgmental of others. Then, when Venus moves into her airy rulership of Libra on the 16th, the spotlight is on harmonious relationships, socializing and beautification projects. Sweetness and light prevail with a tendency toward people-pleasing so don't go overboard, just try not to rock the boat too much. If you're making helpful decisions in your life now, you ought to know your limits and be just fine.

The Sun Moves Into Leo & An Aquarius Full Moon Follows

  The Sun leaves the Cardinal Water sign of Cancer Monday morning at 11:56 a.m. moving into Leo, Fixed Fire, for 30 days of fun in the sun, drama, creativity and willful egos!!  Leo is the sign of the child and as such symbolizes the joy, awe and delight of being alive; after all, it's ruling planet is the life-giving Sun. If you are a Leo, or know any Leos, you know they are warmhearted and outgoing, often expressing themselves enthusiastically and dramatically.   The build-up to tomorrow's Full Moon in Aquarius, highlights of our progress since the Cancer New Moon on the 8th. How did you feel during the last two weeks...? were things overwhelming as you tried to build in some security for yourself...? Maybe you just wanted to hide, what with all the emotions flowing around and breakdowns in communication, also cars, phones and computers on the fritz during Mercury retrograde. Well, now that Mercury is direct and the Sun is about to change signs, we'll be noticing a shift in the energies again, away from so much water and toward more enthusiasm!

   The Sun is starting his journey through fiery, Fixed Leo the same day as the Full Moon occurs in the opposite sign of Fixed Air, Aquarius. This polarity encompasses sharing of ideas and creativity for the good of all, so while relaxation and fun is on your mind, the bigger focus is how to expand that enthusiasm to insure that everyone gets to be included in enjoying themselves in some way. And remember that tomorrow's Aquarian Moon energy isn't concerned with your feelings, just your thoughts. You can share what you think about recent events, etc. but watch out for becoming overly emotional or self-centered. The humanitarian spotlight of this Full Moon will show us where we need to work together for the greater good.

   There is even more to add to Monday's excitement, because volatile Mars joins forces with expansive Jupiter in Cancer, increasing an atmosphere of expectation and possibility on the home front. Mars represents action and Jupiter likes to make a big deal out of everything, so just be sure that whatever you're tooting your horn about isn't going to stir things up in a belligerent way. Rather, focus your energies on getting something done around the house that makes everyone feel better about where they live. The opportunity you've been waiting for may appear and you get the green light to act at long last!

  Another planetary ingress is Venus' entry into Mutable Earth sign Virgo, putting emphasis on valuing organization and planning. As Venus symbolizes money, it's a good time to make a budget and look at spending or saving patterns. What can you do to be more discerning about where, or on what, you are putting your resources into? Virgo also rules the intestines so proper diet and nutrition habits can be instituted from now through mid-August.

New Moon in Cancer & Saturn Goes Direct

   The New Moon occured a few hours after midnight at 17 degrees of the Cardinal Water sign, Cancer. When the Sun and Moon come together, our inner and outer selves can align for a focused new beginning. In water,that puts the emphasis on emotions, home & family and nurturance. You now have a lunar cycle to plant new seeds for emotional security, tend them with loving care and watch how your subconscious responds to life through feelings rather than reason. Be gentle with yourself and your loved ones!

    The waxing Moon energy of the next two weeks is ideal for building family solidarity and listening to the needs of each member of the household. Are someone's needs being overlooked or taken for granted? Is one person getting the lion's share of attention, good or bad, because they demand or need it more than the rest of you? Even people who say they don't "care" about what goes on, probably do, but are so used to be passed over they just aren't in the habit of giving their opinion or input. Whatever the situation in your house, this is the month to address the emotions of everyone involved for a more harmonious home. One way to come together and find out what people need, is to prepare a meal together (you make the salad, I'll grill, you do the potato salad...) then actually sit down at the table together and enjoy each others' company - eat first, then talk when the meal is done!

   As Cancer involves feelings and deals with the subconscious,  this is an important time to pay attention to your habitual way of responding to emotional stimuli, ie: button-pushing!    Another big shift is happening today as the heavy-hitting planet of responsibility, Saturn, goes into direct motion after four and a half months of being retrograde. Expect that it will take from now until mid-October to begin to see progress in your joint projects, especially as they involve business. Saturn shows us where we need to focus our efforts and in Scorpio, this usually has to do with deep personal feelings involving our desire nature, whether it's for a better sexual relationship, a co-creative venture or a new business partnership. You've been learning a lot about what your partner needs in the last several months and now that you understand the give and take ratio a bit better, you can work with what each of you brings to the table. This focused effort will pay off in the long run if you are both committed to bringing about positive results and don't operate from obsessiveness, jealousy or a feeling of inadequacy.

Full Super Moon in Capricorn

   The full "Strawberry" Moon is exact today, Sunday, June 23 at 7:32 a.m. It was the universal name given by the Algonquin tribes to the short harvesting season for strawberries that we call this Moon by. This Moon/Sun opposition takes place at 3 degrees of Capricorn/Cancer, giving it a home and security polarity. The focus at this time is definitely on emotional security, your nest and career or business concerns.

   With the Sun newly entered into the Cardinal Water sign of Cancer, this is the season when loved ones, whether friends or family, gather to share a meal and speak what's in their hearts. The grills come out and suddenly everyone is a chef or the best potato salad maker around! But when the Moon is in Capricorn, the sign opposite its' rulership, like it is at this Full Moon, feelings are often repressed for the sake of taking care of business. It's time to look at how we have handled the responsibilities we set for ourselves at the Gemini New Moon two weeks ago. Then they joy of summer can be more relaxing!

    What contracts, writing projects or negotiations did you plant the seeds for and how have they grown up to this point? Today's Full Moon will show you where there is work to be done. Taking on the job with attention to particulars will help to ensure a positive outcome at the end of this cycle. How are you doing relating to the significant others involved in your life or your projects? You may not feel like it, but it is pertinent to the success of reaching your goal that you assess your progress honestly. The Sun Enters Cancer At Summer Solstice

   Happy Summer everyone! Here it is - the longest day of the year when the Sun comes to the Tropic of Cancer and starts the summer season. While it has been very rainy and this pattern may continue, the trees and flowers are in full bloom and the growing season appears to be rather prolific. Enjoy every sunny day as it appears, even if if means working outside, and save the inside housework for those rainy days!

   We are at the point in the Sun's cycle through the zodiac that is the second Cardinal marker, out of four in a year, when the Sun enters Cancer. The four Cardinal signs act as gate posts for the seasons and for us in the Northern hemisphere, they are: Aries, beginning Spring; Cancer beginning Summer; Libra beginning Autumn; and Capricorn beginning Winter. Cardinal signs like to be in charge and make things happen in their field of expertise.

   Let's take a look at the Cancerian energy. Cancer is a moody, sympathetic, resourceful and protective Water sign. Like their symbol, the crab, Cancers appear to have a hard shell with a soft inside. This protects them from being easily hurt due to their kind and sensitive nature. It means they can exhibit the evasive tendencies of  the crab and sidestep issues, keeping their objectives hidden until they feel safe enough to approach their goalpost. They tend to scurry back and forth, avoiding the incoming tides and possible emotional saturation. Their ruler is the Moon and this strong connection to emotions makes them very vulnerable and restless.

   Cancer men and women tend to be "king of their castle" and need to be in charge in the home. They like a secure nest that feels comfy and cozy and prefer ruling over what goes on in the home. They also enjoy cooking and eating and like to feed those they love. This is the barbecue season and grilling outdoors, bodies of water and family and friends highlight this season. If you don't live by the water, just know that Cancers can make you feel at home in their back yard, so be sure to reciprocate by inviting them over to your house next time! They like to be fed too.

Gemini New Moon Adds To Air, Air Everywhere

   We've had so much going on in the areas of communication and nervous energy in the last couple of weeks that it's hard to imagine today's New Moon as a seed time for talking and interacting over the next four weeks. This is the difference between planetary cycles and the Lunar cycle; while several planets can already be very active in the sign the Sun is in, it may take a couple of weeks for the Moon to catch up to the solar energy and to begin a new phase. That's exactly what's going on right now. The Sun, Venus, Mercury and Jupiter were all in Gemini for the last ten days of May, then Venus and Mercury moved into Cancer to start off June, right when Mars entered Gemini. 

   We could think of this New Moon cycle as a renewed opportunity for planning and negotiating. Plant the seeds for what you need to explore, study or clarify in your daily life over the coming month. Are you finishing up a grant proposal, writing project or job description? Any writing project will benefit from focused concentration now and needs to be solidified sometime between the Summer Solstice and the Full Moon. 

   If you're looking into new employment or need to make agreements with coworkers, siblings or neighbors, this is the time to focus on getting the necessary information and working out the details. Once we move into the 3rd week of June, situations become more emotional and less logical. Actively research your options now so you know where you're going by the Full Moon on the 23rd. Gathering information is what Geminis do best, they just need to focus on the middle ground and what gives them balance, not waver between options!

   Speaking of communication, we are experiencing a challenging aspect today between the Messenger of the Gods - Mercury, and Uranus, symbolizing intuition and Divine Will. Uranus is considered to be the higher octave of Mercury and the only planetary energy we cannot control. It is tied up with knowing when to listen to our intuition (Uranus) and follow the path to our destiny, whether we think (Mercury) we're ready or not. The difficulty comes in not trusting our higher selves to know what's the next right thing to do... or in not taking that next step. If you have gotten the message, glimpse or insight into your next step, but are waiting for some kind of guarantee, you need to get quiet and get free of the opinions of others so you know when to act. By the way, there are no guarantees... just forward movement!

   The coming week brings values and necessity to the table as "have-tos" in the form of a Venus/Pluto opposition and a Saturn/Neptune trine, both occurring on the 11th. First, Venus and Pluto... these two planets are facing off in Cancer (Venus) and Capricorn (Pluto) to highlight safety and security issues. What do you need to take care of on a practical, physical level and how can you insure you'll be able to do this?

    For most people this involves either their home or career choices and who they choose to go into partnership/business with. Venus rules the attracting principle and is associated with our values and how we get our needs met. Pluto represents the transformation principle that begins with breakdown for cleansing and the breakthrough or catharsis that can occur once the process of decay, disintegration and elimination has occurred. We can more easily identify with our personal needs than we can admit to what is necessary to change in the bigger picture. You may have to listen to the rumblings that tell you what is falling apart so you know what to let go of before you can move on to rebuilding.

   Next up for discussion is the Saturn/Neptune trine aspect of harmonization. Saturn is the Lord of Karma, and where he resides, shows us our current responsibilities. Neptune is considered to be the Great Dissolver, who connects us to the spiritual realms or leads us into escapism and like Alice falling down the rabbit hole, continually asks the question, is it real?! How we bring together limitations (Saturn) and lack of boundaries (Neptune) is the purpose here. When two planets are in the same element, they have an opportunity to work together, even if their natures are fundamentally opposed. Saturn in Scorpio and Neptune in Pisces flow together in the Water element through the undercurrents of feelings, dreams and imagination.

   Saturn in Scorpio, drives us to get to know our needs and desires on a much deeper level. Scorpio has to do with powerful feelings, imagination and creative potential that can be sabotaged by negative traits of jealousy, secretiveness or suspicion. By acknowledging your shadow side - what you can't live without, you will come to know who to associate with in order to get your needs met, but make sure you know the price that will be exacted! Saturn harmonizing with Neptune lets meditation and/or the dream realms inform you of where the current is flowing. Make time to connect with these feelings!

Between The Full Moon & The New Moon - At Last Quarter

   There have been many transitions in the last 24 hours, as the Moon squared off with the Sun to begin the Last Quarter phase, talkative Mercury moved into watery Cancer and active Mars became even busier moving into Gemini. First, let's look at the current lunar phase. With the Sun in Gemini, sociability and communications are still revved up, even a week after the extremely excitable Sagittarian Full Moon!  However, as Luna, in watery and sensitive Pisces, pulled away from this challenging aspect to Sol, we may have begun to realize that something has to give if we are to sustain the progress we made building up to this last lunar phase.

   The challenge is one of understanding how well we have done in this last cycle and if growth is continuing or being inhibited. The question to ask oneself now, for finishing out this Last Quarter period over the next week is: what needs to be incorporated, or let go of, in preparation for next week's New Moon and a new lunar cycle? If you feel growth was positive and is still moving in the right direction, then identify what needs to be done to ensure that it continues. If, on the other hand, you feel something is standing in the way of forward movement, this is the week to let go of limiting thoughts or remove the obstacle(s) in your path.

   While versatile Mercury still has a whole lot of influence as ruler of busy Gemini, with the Sun and Jupiter active in this airy sign of the zodiac, Mercury itself just left it's own sign and entered the emotional Water sign of Cancer for the next nine weeks! That's right folks... we'll have a Mercury retrograde cycle in this secretive and vulnerable sign of the Crab. Cancerians just wear a hard outer shell to protect themselves from all those emotions being bounced off of them and their tendency to be evasive is just another tactic to avoid hurt feelings. Keep this in mind for yourself and your loved ones as mercurial Mercury swirls around and around in the ebb and flow of emotions for the next couple of months. Thoughts will be expressed as feelings and/or every feeling may suddenly be repressed or blurted out in a very emotional manner. A helpful thing to remember here is filtering and perhaps an image of a child's net in the water to catch only the pertinent item and let out all that water would be helpful. Another thing to keep in mind is that not all feelings need to be acted on, so keeping a journal or telling a trusted friend can help to restrain oneself from saying or doing hurtful things.

    The good news is that in general people will be more sympathetic and caring, especially when it comes to families and children. Because Cancer rules the stomach and breasts and is a Cardinal sign, and Cardinal signs are doers, writing or calling those people in a position to make changes in ensuring our health and well-being, especially through healthy food, (ie: non-GMO crops and labeling of those products made with GMO corn, etc.) would be an excellent use of this Mercury in Cancer energy! Being active in your community, close to home/Cancer, and looking for, requesting and purchasing organic products to feed yourself and your families is another way to positively express Mercury in Cancer. Support your local organic farmers, markets and co-ops!!

   Mars also changed signs yesterday, moving from earth (Taurus) into air (Gemini). Mars exhibits adventurous action and forward movement and in Gemini may take off in two different directions at once, a bit of dyslexia and ambiguity rolled into one... and I can say that because I have been known to exhibit said qualities on occasion! You probably can relate if you're laughing now... Watch out for the words coming out of your mouth and remember to say what you mean and mean what you say, otherwise, zip it up! Oh, and don't take it personally when others rant or express themselves boldly as Mars in Gemini is the needed energy for many to finally say what has been on their minds for a few weeks. If you've been holding back communicating or making an agreement, it's now time to take action and make something happen... gently or forcefully, as needed.

First Quarter Moon In Leo Sets Us Up For Paying Attention To The Details This Week

   Just after midnight, the Moon squared the Sun at it's halfway mark between New and Full Moons, at what is known as the First Quarter Moon. This point in the lunar cycle reminds us that any obstacles from the past must be overcome in order for our growing consciousness to continue to move toward fullness during the Full Moon phase. Often, this midway point brings up doubt that once recognized, can be acknowledged then released. Whether released, or not, whatever thought or habit pattern, growth or blockage that you utilize now, will continue to build in intensity throughout this month's cycle.

   A Leo Moon brought us to this point, so ask yourself, are you doing what makes you happy? Do you have a plan for moving towards fulfillment or achieving that happiness? Leo is strong energy that often involves having the courage to stand up for ourselves or to take a bit of a risk in self expression. Try not to let the fear of rejection or ridicule stop you from moving toward your bliss!  Leo is a Fixed Fire sign that can be dramatic and likes recognition, but shuns being laughed at. If you asked someone in a position of authority to assist you in the last couple of days, and you're awaiting an answer, take heart that whatever is in the best interest of all involved will be what transpires. Dare to hope it goes your way because the time is right!

   As we are right in between two eclipses, the Solar New Moon Eclipse on the 9th and the upcoming Full Moon Eclipse on the 25th, the energy seems palpable and anything is possible. The other part of my headline is paying attention to the details and that's because the Moon moved into Virgo early this morning, where it will remain for two and a half days. In this time period, it is important to organize oneself and not to overlook any details that may improve either your health, your immediate surroundings or your plans, especially as they relate to the seeds you planted at the New Moon for improving your financial security.

   First Quarter periods remind us to keep removing obstacles for moving ahead. Staying stuck or feeling helpless won't improve your situation. What do you need to do...only you know the answer to that? As you continue to make progress, remember to keep your head in the stars and your feet on the ground.


   

New Moon Solar Eclipse At Twenty Degrees Of Taurus

   Tomorrow's New Moon in Taurus supplies the focus for beautifying your environment, expressing your affection for loved ones and securing your finances. With a Solar Eclipse, which always occurs on a New Moon, we get the added oomph that can find us heading in the right direction as long as we apply the elbow grease. For you younger readers, elbow grease is a term for putting some effort into your labors, as in bearing down and scrubbing hard to clean a dirty pan! Working with Taurus takes your efforts and rewards you for them - with stable relationships, money in the bank and/or pleasant surroundings. An eclipse can jump-start your efforts or really bring home the areas you're lacking in.

   As a reminder, New Moons are seed times, when we begin things having to do with the current planetary energy. The focus when the Sun and Moon come together in this Fixed Earth sign is on beauty, security and loyalty. Tauruses can be patient or lazy, practical or filled with inertia. That's because of a tendency toward stubbornness; if it isn't their idea, it'll take some time for it to become their idea, then they'll see the wisdom of trying something different.    Thursday has some really good energy for taking a leap of faith and beginning something new, due to positive alignments of the Moon with Mars and Mercury prior to eclipse time, as well as a harmonious aspect with transformative Pluto adding another layer to the day. However, the alignment of the Sun and Moon at 8:28 p.m. ushers in a VOC period lasting until Friday at 5:21 p.m. when the Moon drifts into Gemini for two and a half days. Friday is a good day for researching and finishing up everything on your almost-completed to-do list, but it's not the time to start anything new, unless it's after 5:21 p.m.! Resolve to practice patience and enjoy being with the people around you over the weekend or doing one of the activities mentioned above.

Powerful Lunar Eclipse Full Moon Today!!

   The Moon in Scorpio opposes the Sun in Taurus at 3:57pm this afternoon for a partial eclipse of the Moon. Unfortunately, it will not be visible anywhere in North America. It's affects however, will still be felt everywhere. The Fixed polarity of the Earth sign Taurus and the Moon sign Scorpio act like a powerful magnet to attract or repel our resources and the relationship agreements we value. Energy follows thought... so be aware of where you're focusing your thoughts! If you set your intention on the positive, you'll open the pathway to receiving what you want... on the negative, you'll attract the things, people and situations you fear.

   At 6 degrees of Scorpio, the Sabian Symbol for this Full Moon is very telling indeed! Scorpio brings the deep-seated desire to play a more important or intense role in any union, whether a person or a community. This yearning motivates the individual to search for a more effectual means to achieving the most total feeling experience possible. The danger is being torn away from the familiar and gambling everything on a vision or a dream.

   What do you desire the most? Is it a feeling of belonging within a community or a partnership? Aries New Moon, All Hail Spring!!

   The Moon, representing instinctual behavior, joined the Sun in Aries, giver of vital life force and holder of power and will,  at 21 degrees of Aries at 5:35 a.m. EDT this morning. Aligning the inner and outer for oneself, this New Moon puts the impetus out there for new starts and independent action. Spring is knocking on our doors, saying "get up and get out..." or "the early bird gets the worm!" Newness trumps the old and outmoded, as chances are taken and bold actions encouraged. An aura of entrepreneurship, exploration and forcefulness pervades theatmosphere.

   There are 3 more planetary energies in Aries at this time; they are Uranus (independence and extremes), Mars (energy and aggression) and Venus (values, love and beauty). The impulsive persuasiveness of all these Aries influences needs to be tempered if one is to make lasting changes for the better, otherwise it's more like you've won the battle but there's nothing and no-one left to rebuild or celebrate with. Venus and Mars, came together a few days ago, on April 7^th, forming a bond between hard work and passion. Venus brought the charm to Mars' home territory to remind him to assert himself in a more gentle manner. If you can remember to lovingly assert yourself, you will burn less bridges as you push forward to get your needs met.

   Another planetary aspect pattern that is still active in the sky is a harmonious relationship between Saturn (responsibility and constriction), Chiron (healing process) and Pluto (transformation and rebirth), bringing continued opportunity for healing change. Think of Saturn as an anchor to keep your boat from being swept away as you the experience the necessary process of growth. Some of the adjustments you're having to make come from outside forces, but in reality, you were probably aware of the need for change, so embrace the possibility of daring new potential, as scary as some of it may seem! The spiritual guidance of Neptune being in Pisces, offers a subtle assist to Saturn in Scorpio that may go unnoticed, yet has the potential for bringing intuition in to balance out the rational. Pay attention to underlying feelings and do not lose sight of your dreams!

   Just around the corner, on the 12th, tranformative Pluto turns retrograde for 5 months back tracking from 11 degrees, 35 minutes of Capricorn to 8 degrees, 59 minutes Capricorn. When an outer planet hits a stationary point, going either forward or back, it can trigger any action related to that planets' energy. Pluto has to do with decay, contamination, destruction, desire or obsession and can act as an agent of cleansing and healing. Any planets you have between these degrees in the Cardinal signs, Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn, will be impacted and may be the place I was mentioning above, where you probably have been experiencing a need for change. Take note of what is shifting in your personal or business relationships, in your home and/or business and career concerns.

   At long last, Mercury, symbolizing communication and logic, moves into Aries on the 13^th, providing the boost we’ve needed to get the conversation started or new agreements written. The recent Mercury retrograde period certainly pinpointed dreams, foggy expectations and confusing communication. Get busy making new connections that work for moving in the direction you spent so much time dreaming about!

Aries Sun & Libra Moon Illuminated

   At the vernal Equinox a week ago, the Sun moved into it's place of exaltation in Aries to jump-start our journeys for the year and brought new vitality for fresh beginnings. As the first sign of the zodiac, this Cardinal Fire sign lights a spark, whether starting new growth in Spring in the Northern Hemisphere or lighting the hearth fires as Autumn begins in the Southern Hemisphere.

   Aries energy is invigorating, entrepreneurial and exploratory, not waiting for anyone but the self to set off on new adventures. It is the rush of youth, at times foolhardy and impulsive, jumping into something and asking questions later. If you've been needing a boost of energy, here it is! The caution of course is not to be too demanding or aggressive in your pursuit of new horizons. And that's where The Libra Moon comes in to try and keep things on an even keel.

   Libra is the Cardinal Air sign, complimentary to its' Aries polarity; air feeds fire and self seeks other. These two balance each other as they dance at the Full Moon. Seeds planted at the New Moon two weeks ago have grown beyond their sprouted stage and buds have opened. Did you water and protect the new growth of ideas or projects?

   Cooperation is necessary for beauty and harmony and Libra is well equipped to bring refinement to the ofttimes naivety ushered in with Mars' influence over Aries. Use the illuminating light of this Full Moon to see where you're at and where you either need to forge ahead or pull in the reins a bit while others get their affairs in order too meet you somewhere in the middle. In the meantime, Libra Moon is ideal for social gatherings, beautification projects and focusing attention on significant others.

   There are some planetary energies making it trickier to just get moving in the direction we want to go in. While Mercury is in direct motion, it is still in its' shadow phase requiring us to exercise patience as steps are retraced. After April 6th, things begin to speed up and Mercury just wants to hurry and catch up to Venus, symbolizing love and money, along with her cohort Mars, already traveling with the Sun through Aries!  Values and desire are aligned for hopeful new beginnings as we await logic and reasoning to move from subconscious depths into the Spring's light. Exercise patience and understanding even as you plan and begin to move ahead.

Pisces New Moon & Mars In Aries

   Today's New Moon in Pisces arrives at 3:51pm and ushers in the monthly influence of impressionability, imagination and increased compassion and sensitivity. You may find yourself feeling more sentimental or experiencing bouts of emotional vulnerability and wondering where these vague undercurrents of emotion are coming from. Pisces is ruled by Neptune and the boundaries between people tend to break down during this Lunar cycle. If you feel that others are stepping over their boundaries and invading your emotional space, you might retreat or deny that you even know what they are talking about. Trouble is, you're not the only one sensing things right now, so they may be on to you! 

   The anectdote for these feelings is to remember your limits and discern whether or not this is your problem, or someone else'. Then you will know if you can do anything about the situation. Instead of burying your head under the covers or going into complete denial by disappearing or drinking that whole bottle of wine by yourself, set your boundaries and state your limitations. Yes, we all need understanding and compassion, including a helping hand at times, but if you are feeling overwhelmed with your own issues, taking on someone else' is only going to confuse things.

   For artistically or musically inclined people reading this, this is a great month for enhancing those creative urges you are experiencing! Channel your inspiration into writing lyrics or poetry, designing jewelry, painting a new picture - whatever flows from your imagination needs an outlet now. For those people with heightened awareness of the spiritual realms, you may be more susceptible to vague impressions that seem like deja vu and/or messages from departed loved ones. Pay attention to the symbolism coming from your dream states or these feelings of "knowingness" but not knowing where it comes from. Ask yourself, is it real, or is it memorex?, and again, you do not need to act on anything just because it enters your awareness.

   The action planet, Mars, is moving into Aries, the sign he rules on Tuesday for 5 weeks. That will energize us to take action and get moving in whatever area of our lives that we experience the Aries expression. You can see this by looking at your birth chart and noticing where Aries is in your Horoscope. As this urge to begin something happens in the period of the New Moon, this is a great time to initiate whatever it is you've been sitting on since early February while fiery Mars was treading water in Pisces. Just realize that while you're feeling energetic, Mercury is still retrograde in Pisces until the 17th and in its' shadow phase until April 6th, so look both ways and proceed with caution! Once the Sun enters Aries on the 20th, at the vernal, or Spring, Equinox, we'll really be experiencing a forward surge, but I'll talk more about that in next week's Blog post.

   Two other important planetary influences to mention for this week. The first is that even though Tuesday and Wednesday are under both an Aries Moon influence and Mars returns to his ruler-ship, the only day to really press forward or try to make something happen is on Tuesday. There are some aspects that day between the Aries Moon and Mars, Uranus and Jupiter which give a huge push to get out there and start something, hopefully not too aggressively. Wednesday however, is under  a void-of-course Moon influence all day and lasting into Thursday afternoon. If you try to begin something important it may take a side turn that you don't want or expect. So, sit on your hands, button your lip and try to be patient until Friday when the Moon is happily placed in earthy Taurus. Then you be able to start moving ahead assured of more stable efforts.

   The last bit of cosmic news is that Mercury stations and turns Direct on Sunday afternoon, signalling the end of communication snafus and misunderstandings, at least for the time being, (there's always something going on to cause delays and breakdowns...) It isn't until April 6th that Mercury leaves it's shadow phase and passes the degree it went retrograde at. So start making plans and agreements and, in general, begin to shift from letting go to beginning again!

Sun In Pisces, Mercury Retrograde & A Virgo Full Moon... Time To Stay In The Moment And Go With The Flow~

   The Sun entered the last sign of the zodiac, Pisces, on February 18th, bringing an overflow of creativity and inspiration to the forefront that will last until March 20th. As the mutable Water sign, Pisces usually operates behind the scenes and prefers not to be in the limelight. You may feel the undercurrents of Pisces' fluidity as intuition, impressions or even a feeling of being off balance. Use this time to explore your own creativity in the arts, whether music, painting or photography. Also, feel free to take a break and retreat when emotions become overwhelming.

   Giving yourself permission to not always know what is around the bend, but to flow into it, is the Piscean way to go. It's also a great time to discover talents hidden beneath the surface, buried perhaps in echoes of the past. Many are uncovering the joys of painting or music that they relished in years, or lifetimes, gone by. Music and poetry are other examples that can be released when listening to your inner muse. People are generally more sensitive and compassionate under Pisces, making this a good time for sharing and understanding. It is also easier for those with escapist tendencies to get lost in fantasy, drugs or an alcoholic fog, so use your discernment along with your intuition.

    The much maligned Mercury retrograde phase began yesterday and continues through March 17th. The turn-around of this mercurial energy is necessary for regrouping so that mental processes aren't worn too thin as we jump from one plan to another. The problems that arise from delays, breakdowns in communication and mechanical or moving parts create the frustrations that have given Mercury retrograde such a bad name. Just remember, we can't be fast-forwarding all the time without some time out to review, redo and renew! If you research what you think you need to buy, or need to arrange, and dot all your i's and cross all your t's, you could feel better about this reprieve.

   Treading water in Pisces means that Mercury can connect you with your inner knowingness as you explore the subconscious realms. It may be a bit unsettling to those who are used to being more clear-cut and direct in their communications. However, actually allowing situations to unfold as they will, then intuiting which action or direction to take will help you to find the right words when you need them. It's an especially ripe time for writers to be more creative or for anyone looking to find another approach in their interactions. Nostalgia can run rampant, so digging out the old photos and actually putting them into that album that's collecting dust on the shelf, would be a wonderful pastime while Mercury flows retrograde through Pisces.

   Tomorrow's Full Moon in Virgo, the mutable Earth energy, serves to balance out all the water flowing from its' polar opposite place of the Sun in Pisces. Virgo illumination brings a chance for scrutiny and to see how well you've been organizing your dreams and visions. It also puts the spotlight on health and nutrition, as well as boundary-setting and skill-building. So take some time to see where you may need to tweak your hopes and dreams to ensure that you reach your goals proficiently. The lunar phase
 we enter now asks us to consolidate and make use of what we gathered as we began two weeks ago, not to start new projects, but to continue perfecting and polishing. Just don't be too hard on yourself in the pursuit of perfection or over analyze your every move or you may find yourself tossing and turning during many a restless night.
