You can start to plant new business and/or career seeds in the next couple of days as Luna aligns with the solar energy of this Cardinal Earth sign at the New Moon today. Setting up a month-long plan now is a really good idea. Take the time to sit down and make a 5 or 10 point list of things you want to accomplish in the coming weeks. I encourage you to do a New Moon wishlist every month, and especially today, because this is the start of the year and the time when your focused energy can be very effective at bringing positive results in the months ahead!
The Moon in Capricorn feels better when functioning within guidelines. So think, "OK, today I have to do this and this, then tomorrow, that..." As long as you take care of first things first, whatever the priorities are - job, business, health, home or studies, then you'll feel better and will be able to move on to the next task at hand. The Moon feels more comfortable in Cancer, the watery sign which it rules, but here in Capricorn, feelings and emotions need to be held in check and expressed in a constructive way that benefits everyone. Acknowledge your feelings and take responsibility for them, but be patient in knowing when to express yourself and with whom. With Venus (love and/or money) and Jupiter (expansive optimism) both currently interacting with Uranus, planetary purveyor of extremes... it is wise not to react too quickly or overreact to sudden triggers from your environment. We want to build bridges, not burn them.
Saturn as the ruler of Capricorn, reminds us that focus, responsibility and
perseverance are the attributes to cultivate now and while the Moon
waxes up until the Full Moon on Saturday, January 26th. Not that you'll
stop working or back off any on your efforts after the Full Moon, but
the next two weeks are the time to increase your efficiency and apply
extra elbow grease to what you want to achieve. Remember also, that the
Sun is life force and energy, which needs to be used wisely, even
conservatively when in this zodiac sign. So work hard, rest and
replenish your resources when necessary, whether food or finances, and
for most of us, that means hard work comes first!
Let's look at where Saturn is again, since he is the one pulling the strings behind the scenes. Saturn is in Scorpio for the next couple of years, this deeply emotional sign of co-creation, jealousy and joint finances. It is best to look at your suspicions as things of the past and to let them go in order to live in the present. And while you're at it, let your secrets out too, as they serve no positive purpose and can only sabotage your efforts to reach your goals. Now, you don't have to run out and tell everyone, everything... be discreet in who it is safe to tell what to - no sense in ruining any more relationships! If, on the other hand, you've held back from telling your significant other or business partner something they need to know to enhance the partnership, then it is time to screw up your courage and do it. Letting go of shame, guilt or remorse will help you build new and better foundations.
The week ahead sees the temptation of Venus's normally gentle persuasiveness to become overly demanding, self-indulgent or self-destructive when she aligns first with revolutionary Uranus on Saturday (leave the checkbook and credit cards at home...) and then on Wednesday when she joins Pluto. Any planet aligned with Pluto, especially one so receptive as Venus stands to be overshadowed with self-doubt and feelings of doom. The danger here is that Venus can be irresponsible and vain, even lazy, as she indulges her obsessive nature in harmful self-sabotage. Turn that around by harnessing Pluto's transformative powers of catharsis and regeneration to make new healthier habits.
By weeks' end, new associations and information can have a freeing affect as Mercury and the Sun move into logical Aquarius. This can bring new connections and opportunities for
fresh starts, as long as you have been honest with yourself and your
significant others around the work you needed to do to form a more cohesive network of support. For now, focus on doing your homework... and while you're at it, remember to keep your head in the stars and your feet on the ground!!
